Showing Gratitude Towards the Whole

Nov. 24th is Thanksgiving Day. In America, most folks gather and ‘give thanks’ in one form or another. What would it be like if every day was treated like it was ‘Thanksgiving Day’? What if everyone gave ‘thanks’, not only for specific things BUT FOR THE WHOLE? What would life on planet earth be like?

I’d love to put up the ‘Miami International Book Fair’ blog this week, but I think spending time to look at the nature of ‘thanksgiving’ is more important. Imagine giving thanks JUST FOR THE OPPORTUNITY THAT YOU ARE; wow! You are marvelously made and destined to win at whatever you set your mind to … what if you took time to give ‘thanks’ just for the opportunity this offers you?

Only when you appreciate the whole, can you laugh and joyfully play at business … with family … friends and neighbors … at making money … and most important … at helping others to help themselves experience their ‘marvelous wholeness’.

Accepting that you are marvelously made is a gracious gift that you give to YOU; You can only truly give it to others as a gracious gift when you’ve accepted it as true about you – you can only give away what you have. You cannot help others to realize this about themselves if you do not realize it about you.

When you give with no thought of giving … then the giving is gracious. Imagine giving in ways that always feel natural. Then, you feel the presence of the incredible Force of Compensation all around you; everything beautiful flows easily to you, and you have even more to gratefully share with others. When you reach this summit of gratitude, your entire energy is one of ‘thanksgiving’, and every day is ‘Thanksgiving Day’ for you.

When you feel grateful for the whole, you feel grateful just for existing; then gratitude flows through your calm silence, through your joyous gestures, and through every possibility that shows up with your daily action.

‘Thanksgiving Day’ is a great day to feel grateful for all the small things that make your life work so incredibly easy (such as breathing). It’s also a great day to express gratitude for all of the big things that lift your spirit and have you soaring.

Student: Why do so many good things happen to me?

Teacher: Because your ‘attitude of gratitude’ permeates everything you think, say and do … gratitude and the Force of Compensation work hand in hand.

The Lost Duckling

Before beginning my story, I want to let you know that Mind Adventure Inc. will be at the Miami International Book Fair where we will be introducing a new title by Jk Allen, Driven to Learn, Learning to Win. You probably know Jk from his popular website, hustlersnotebook.com. Nick (the Mind Adventure Art Director), Jk, and I will be flying into Miami on Thursday and not returning until Monday. We will also be exhibiting a special pre-publication edition of my forthcoming book, Marvelous Denials & Wonderful Obsessions. I am not bringing my laptop (yes, life can be lived without a laptop). Therefore, I will not respond to your comments until I return. Please do share a comment, nonetheless.

This week’s post is going to be a story about a lost duckling that I encountered at my favorite pond. Most folks love stories because stories appeal to our heart-mind, where our feelings dwell. Stories also appeal to the subconscious level of the mind, where we think in pictures. The subconscious loves to visualize rather than intellectualize. It’s little wonder that metaphors, stories and allegories are powerful communication tools. Jesus loved using them – what a great teacher he was.

My story … The Lost Duckling

I walk around a lovely pond every day. One day, this summer, while making my daily walk with Shakespeare on my shoulder (my pet parrot), I noticed a small abandoned duckling that was desperately trying to find its mom. I watched the tiny duckling swim frantically up to a giant swan that gently pushed him/her away. The duckling then swam to a mother goose with three young ones. The goose hissed, flapped its wings and scared the duckling away. The duckling saw a seagull, and thinking this is mom, he anxiously swam around it, only to be ignored.

It occurred to me that because the tiny duckling did not know what kind of bird he was, because he wasn’t mature enough to look into his own nature, he did not discern a difference between him and any of the other birds on the pond. He thought, perhaps he was a swan, a goose, or a seagull. All of these misidentifications brought him grief.

Within a few moments a lone male duck swam up to the duckling. I swear that it whispered in that tiny duckling’s ear. I believe it told the duckling, “Well, you have learned all the kinds of birds that you are not … so now it is time to look deeper inside of yourself and allow your real nature to reveal itself.”

The male duck swam away, and within a few moments, the duckling began swimming more calmly. I followed it as it swam around a large fallen tree that landed in the pond – and there was MOM! The duckling was HOME once again.

Dare’st you ask … “What does this story have to do with me?” If you ask, you will learn something powerfully knew. What labels must you drop; what limitations must you let go of, in order to recognize your true nature and experience your authentic self … in order to be HOME once again?

Please do share. What you have to say is valuable. Your viewpoint produces right feelings in others. Thank you and blessings

Developing a Healthy Ego

I don’t think human beings can help but have an ego. Without an ego, we’d respond to life like the creatures in the animal kingdom; we wouldn’t focus our creative energy in productive ways; we’d simply be running on ‘sex energy’. The human ego is a ‘self-assertive tendency’ that allows human beings to control their environment.

Your ego demonstrates through your personalities, in the way you dress, how you carry yourself, the kind of car you buy, and even in the type watch you wear (if you wear a watch at all). Your ego expresses itself in your facial expressions, your tone of voice, the stride of your walk. Your ego plays a big role in your attitude.

We all have our own unique ego. The ego is like a fingerprint; no two are exactly the same. Some egos need restraining (the loud, back-slapping type), some need a boost (the shy, wallflower type), and some work wonderfully, just as they are.

The ego is like a spark plug; it can spark a consciousness of prosperity, and you experience an enriching life. The ego can also spark a consciousness of scarcity, and you experience a sparse life. How are you doing with that?

People who feel comfortable with themselves have healthy egos. People who feel uncomfortable with themselves have vain egos (never satisfied). A healthy ego promotes a healthy mind. A vain ego causes a driven mind that acts without thinking.

Even the healthy ego can become rundown; it can need a boost now and again. How to boost one’s ego depends upon the individual. Some find a new car will do it. Some give it a boost by going out into the world and helping others. Some boost the ego by wearing nice clothes and being neat. Some boost it by giving love and compassion where needed.

KNOW THYSELF: what does it take to boost your ego? Have you given that any thought? You should.

I boost my ego several ways. I boost it with my extensive book collection, with my Master Mind Alliance meetings, with my long walks with Shakespeare (my pet parrot on my shoulder), with my displays of sincere generosity, and even with my supercharged edition Range Rover (I get a kick out of driving this more than my rare sports car).

Look for your ego-boosters. They are right there in front of you. Are you aware of what boosts your ego? Do you use them deliberately when your ego is in a slump? A boosted ego is not one that is overbearing. It’s one that supports you with your aspirations and aims. Don’t take this lightly. When you know the best ways to boost your ego, you have knowledge that can turn your mind around to WOW when it is caught in an attitude of WOE.

Has this post given you a different way of looking at your ego? Please share ways that you boost your ego. Please offer any insights or tips that you may have about the ego. Your comments help all of us bring more clarity to the topic of the week.

Thank you & blessings

Life is in the Language

Words are things. When I say “Words are things” … what do I mean? I mean:

(1.)  You can gather a flock of words together and throw them into the world.

(2.)  You can say something and make it
come true.

(3.)  You can be a prophet if you want to.

You can embrace someone with a string of comfortable words that make them feel good: “I really like you.” “You are very talented.” “That’s a wonderful thing you did.”

When you use language this way, you gather words, put them in a sentence, and toss them out there in the world … and they make someone feel good. NICE!

You can also throw words at someone just like you throw a hand grenade. You can destroy their attitude with a string of words. You can harm their psychic state with your language. Can’t you! Horrible?! Folks are vulnerable.

Words are things; they are forces of energy. A string of words can cause healing or cause infections. You can offer them as a gift, or offer them as a poison. When you gather words together, string them in a sentence and toss them out there in the world, they have an affect. Do you take your language that seriously?

Language is the invisible part of life ; it is not concrete; you cannot measure or weigh it … but it has a great impact on the visible part. President John F. Kennedy said, “We choose to go to the moon in this decade …” When he said it, thousands got a mental picture of what it meant … and within a decade man was walking on the moon. How are you languaging your future?

What are your plans for the next decade? What is the language you use when speaking to yourself? Do you speak to yourself about the next decade? Do you take your personal self-talk seriously?

Your life unfolds from the language you use with yourself. Words are the things from which miracles unfold. If words were not things, there would be no faith healing, there would be no marvelous breakthroughs in science, there would be no uplifting changes in society.

If language was not available, your life would be mechanical and robot-like. You would not be able to design your personal destiny.

When you believe you are marvelously made and destined to win at whatever affirmation you listen to, and you language it in a way that motivates you – powerful universal forces work with you. Language is a magnetic force. It attracts the interactive forces of creation to comply with your wishes.

Your self-talk blesses you when the language you use attracts good things unto you. Your self-talk curses you when the language you use attracts bad things unto you.

It is important that we pay attention to the language we use with ourselves and with the world.

(A.) Language consists of a collection of words.

(B.) A collection of words is an accumulation of thought-energy.

(C.) An accumulation of thought-energy is a powerful force that can cause White Magic or Black Magic.

You really are here to live an extraordinary life of enriching experiences. Allow your language to cause White Magic.

Your language contains a great force. It represents your thoughts. You are a powerful thinker because you can language your thoughts. Your language creates your world. There is no such thing as coincidence.

Please share what stirs in you after reading this post. What truth sits clearly before you about language and your world? Your input offers clarity to what is being spoken.

Thank you & blessings
