Atomic Action

NOTE: Please be sure to check out my guest post with JD Meier of the venerable Sources of Insight.

Student: How come some folks seem to get so much done, and still have plenty of time to play golf, travel to exotic ports, or go out on their yachts?
Teacher: It’s all about ‘Atomic Action.’
Student: What’s that?
Teacher: ‘Atomic Action’ is a complete and finished act that occurs in the moment; you feel absolutely free to choose your response for the next moment, and the next, and the next.

Thomas Edison experienced Atomic Action in his laboratory, Michelangelo experienced Atomic Action while painting the Sistine Chapel ceiling, Yelena Gadzhievna Isinbayeva experienced Atomic Action when she broke the world record pole vaulting. Marie Curie experienced Atomic Action with her pioneering research on radioactivity.

In what part of your life do you experience Atomic Action?
When are you absolutely in the grove?

I experience it when making chocolate chip cookies. I mix the batter, and shape the cookies, and toss them in the oven with a total feeling of completion with each action.

Don’t laugh – if you can do it with making chocolate chip cookies, you can do it with whatever you set your mind to. I took my Atomic Action to the restaurant business and had incredible success in a short period of time. Why do we settle for so little when we can experience so much more of ourselves?

Student: What stops Atomic Action?
Teacher: Feelings of incompletion that come from the past.

We are Whole Minded, and fresh and ready for the present moment when we let go of our failures and incompletions of the past. Atomic Action is a consequence of Whole Mindedness. Every level of the mind is focused on the action in the moment, and the result is incredible.

There is also Partial Mindedness. We’ve all experienced this … a lot! We are Partial Minded when we are stuck with memories of past failures. Part of the mind is on the present challenge at hand, and part of the mind is traipsing through the cemetery of memories from the dead past. The memories are of past failures. This can be a subconscious act, but you know when it is happening – you simply can’t seem to get anything done right.

When ‘memories of past failures’ (be they conscious or subconscious), fall upon the moment, your action is a swing and a miss. A Partial Mind cannot keep its eye on the ball because it is looking in two directions (in the present and in the past).

Unfortunately, when a memory of failure destroys a victory in the present moment, the present moment becomes another memory of failure. Now, it becomes part of the graveyard of past failures that contaminate the next moment. What a tangled web we weave!

SO, WHAT TO DO?

STEP ONE

    • Commit to making this moment’s action Atomic.
    • Commit to being in the moment with your Whole Mind (all levels of thinking).
    • Commit to feeling fresh and fully awake to what you are up to right now.

STEP TWO

    • Speak to your mind, aloud, “I am complete with my past. Now is a new moment and I will not destroy it by traipsing in the graveyard of past failure.”
    • Speak to your mind, aloud, “I know you love to live with unfinished business of past failures, but I cannot afford this luxury any longer. We are finished with the past. Pay full attention to what I am doing right now.

STEP THREE

    • Now fix your mind on what you are doing and begin! Do not vacillate, do not procrastinate, do not hesitate – BEGIN! Mean it!

Here’s a tip for the FIRST STEP: To commit requires seeing where ‘you have been your own problem’ in the past, and promising yourself not to repeat those patterns anymore. You will be pleasantly startled to find that you are remarkably creative when you allow your natural ability to flow through you.

Here’s a tip for the SECOND STEP: You are training your inward self-talk to communicate with all levels of your mind. You are taking control of your inner world talk show radio station. You can do that, and it will give you remarkable results. The mind is meant to serve you. Don’t let it control you.

Here’s a tip for the THIRD STEP: When you act with singleness of purpose and waiver not (which is what Whole Mindedness is about), the whole universe throws itself on your side, and you stand in awe when you see the results that you get.

Okay, so it is time to reclaim every level of your mind:

* subconscious level   * conscious level   * superconscious levels

Reclaim your right to the Atomic Energy found in the invisible atom found everywhere in the Universe. Reclaim this right so you can take Atomic Action. If you believe it, just as flowers absorb water from the earth, you will absorb Atomic Energy from the universe … and you will find yourself in absolute flow with your dreams and aspirations.

Do you want that?
Do you really, really want that?
Do you?

Please leave a comment.

Where have you experienced Atomic Action in your life?

Where do you stumble, stumble, stumble, or move like a snail?

Just sharing the truth about when you are in flow and when your mind screams ‘NO’ begins the process of being complete with your past failures, and soon you will be soaring.

  1. This made me aware of something that I’ve been battling a lot as of late. Well, I’ve probably been battling with it forever but I’ve been a bit more conscious of it as of late. I have a lot of my plate. Not too much on my plate, but a lot. I do get things done, but sometimes I feel like things take me longer and more sessions than they should – compared to the past when I had less on my mind.

I rarely operate with atomic action. Here’s how I usually operate:
I multi-task way too much…almost with everything. I may be on a conference call at work, while working on a document for a client at the same time and replying to a personal email. The funny thing is that while I’m doing one thing, I’m thinking about the other. This makes it virtually impossible for me to execute effectively and efficiently because my mind is in other places.

I start out on the right foot – but then all the thoughts of what I have to do start coming into my mind – so I start things so I don’t forget them. Before I know it, I’m working on 5 tasks at once. What a mess!

I experience Atomic Action when I don’t worry about everything else. I just perform or do what I have to do and not focus on anything else. This seldom happens, but when it does, I’m almost left feeling like I forgot about, or missed something because I feel a feeling that’s not common to me; completion.

I don’t have one area where I experience atomic action. I’ve experienced in random areas. Like working out, writing, executing business projects, doing work around the house..but not all the time, by any means. I guess one area where I really experience it the most is when doing yard work. I wake up early, get it done, don’t focus or think of much else while doing it, and before I know I’m done and I feel accomplished and that I’m free to do whatever else I want. Shortly after that the reality usually sets in that I have a bunch of other things to do.

I’m the culprit of all of this. I do it to myself. I put the burden on my shoulders…or I allow the burden to reside on my shoulders. This post also made me realize that when I don’t have things going on – I don’t feel productive. When I don’t feel productive – I often feel like I’m being lazy. So, I don’t relax a lot. I have some changing to do.

I’ve never thought of all of this. It’s just coming to me as I’m writing this comment. I’m kind of surprised of the truths that I just uncovered of myself – from being honest to myself. And as I think about this deeper – I guess I have some fear of being usual, average, or complacent – because it’s those things I saw so much of growing up and I don’t want my kids to see, nor do I want my life to be like that. But I also don’t want to promote being controlled by past failures.
I don’t want my life to be based on past failures. I want my life to be based on unlimited successes. I’m willing to do what I have to do to make this my reality. I’ll begin with taking your advice seriously (the steps and the tips).
    Thank you, Rob. Thank you

    • I can empathize with Jk on this one. There is so much going on in every moment of the day. It’s not uncommon to reminisce on past failures, where mutli-tasking or basic time management came up short, resulting in missed opportunities or failure of some sort.

If I focus on the task at hand – fully committed to giving it my best – I know I will be successful. If not, it’s a learning experience. Merrily, we OOPS along. The trick seems to be reminding myself prioritizing my time to be most effective allows me to fully focus on one thing at a time, knowing I can move on to the next objective once this one is complete to the best of my ability.

      Is this Atomic Action?

      • Hi Brian. Atomic Action is a consequence of all parts of your mind (all levels of your thinking) aligning. When you act from this center-point, your action is total. And when your action is total, it has beauty of its own … even if you’ve not completed the outcome you aspire to accomplish. When the action is total, you need not carry the memory of what you did … the memory carries you to the next right and perfect step. It’s was magic Johnson accomplished on the basketball court, over and over again. Thank you

  2. Hi Jk. WOW, you really added dimension to this post. I recommend that everyone read your comment and consider it part of the post. You offered another prime reason why so many folks fail to act with atomic energy; the reason is that they multi-task. You cannot be in the present, giving 100% of your energy to what you are doing, when you assign your mind several projects to attend at the same time. NICE. NICE. NICE. Thank you

  3. Hi Rob,
First, I’m honored and humbled to have one of the best comments slots this week. That’s a really cool honor my friend. Thank you so very much for that. When I saw the message from you, my spirit was illuminated like a brilliant torch; I doubt if anything will be able to dim it today. So again, Thank you for that awesomeness! :)

There are several reasons I can relate to this message. I know exactly the energy in which you speak. For me, that moment of Atomic Action is when I’m totally intune with myself and whatever it is that I’m doing at the time. I mean, there is nothing else in the world that I’d rather be doing than that one thing that I’m doing then. Here lately it has definitely been my writing and working on the new site.

It’s a feeling of oneness almost, as though me and whatever I’m intune with are one. Although my website is mainly about my past, it’s my releasing it that I think is causing me to tap into my own Atomic Action. I’ve been trying to explain the feeling that has come over me, and there wasn’t really a way that I could. Until reading this post; I now know that’s exactly what I’ve been feeling. Atomic Action. Doors are opening that I’ve been trying to push ajar for two years since I’ve been unemployed. I’m not even stressed out about that as much as I was on last year.

The place I stumble is with my family and the energy they bring into my life. So what I have done there is keep my distance until I know that I want to entertain that energy.

I think a person needs to be fully aware of what and who takes them away from being in the zone. It’s imperative almost. If there are certain thing and people that disrupt your energy and flow, you have to acknowledge it. And if it’s something or someone that you can’t just cut completely out of your life, it would be very wise to figure out how to manage the relationship without allowing it to take you away from your Atomic Action.

It’s never an easy fix, but what worth having truly is.

My favorite part of this post was a single line actually, it’s where you stated, “We are Whole Minded, and fresh and ready for the present moment when we let go of our failures and incompletions of the past.” Man! That was Awesome!!

When you come to the point of realization where you accept the fact the the thing that are incomplete in the past might not be able to be fixed; at least not by oneself, and you finally release that feeling of failure to fix the problem. I think then and only then will you ever truly experience that “Whole Minded” feeling.

I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate and enjoyed this post. Totally Awesomeness!!! Thank you so much for sharing it! As well, as for the torch. ;)

    • Hi Deeone. You are a true aspirant. You yearn to learn. Your thirst for the truth and you have the courage to do whatever it takes to realize your vast reservoir of unrealized potential. You have plugged into the winning formula. And remember what you just noticed: you can come to it fresh when there is no past to be carried. Leave the cemetery of past failures behind. Don’t look back. it is all dead. The memories in that cemetery have but one aim. Their aim is to torment you with guilt and frustration. You are mightier than your memories. prove it to yourself! Thank you for who you are. blessings

  4. OluwaRotimi Adesina says:

Hmmm…Atomic action! A bitter truth has just been uncovered again, and it’s hiting me again…hard! Just as I was reading, I recalled the times I’d set to do a task but ended up achieving nothing worthwhile. Why? My mind wanders around, about what should have been and what is to be, neglecting the task at hand or not taking it seriously. A good example was when I was writing one of my senior secondary school exams (I think you call it senior high or something…), my mind was majorly pre-occupied with the shortcomings of the previous academic session and I was afraid that such might repeat itself. I dwelt so much on that thought that my preparation suffered and my grades suffered so much…even worse than the previous! I’d not been able to set my ‘Whole Mind’ on the task and I suffered for it….
But I understand Atomic action. I have experienced it many times on a particular task. Just telling bible stories to the little kids in my local church every sunday is a great thing…a great thing that I devote the whole of my mind to do. The little faces, the cute smiles, the funny questions…it’s such a wonderful experience! Save that, all I experience is distraction and ‘trying to kill two birds with one stone’ on other tasks. I guess I need to apply those steps and the tips… Yea, ’cause I’m an individual working and striving hard for personal growth and success. Thanks Rob, for this wonderful insight!

    • You brought your heart to this comment, Oluwa. THANK YOU. Your personal examples are right on. YES, you participate in atomic action when you tell the children bible stories. WHAT A GIFT YOU ARE TO HUMANITY. Build your spiritual memory with remembrances of those precious moments, and you are unstoppable. They will support you in extraordinary ways. blessings

  5. Hey Rob,

I’ve talked often on my site about “inspired action”, where we’re in the flow, in the zone, fully connected, super productive and it doesn’t feel like work, at all. You’ve made me aware of another parameter of inspired action: fully being present in the moment. It’s like I knew that, but I hadn’t defined it until I read your post. Thank you so much for this additional clarity. It’s like before, I would’ve said that being present in the moment is a result of inspired action. But now I get that being fully present will turn action into inspired action. Man, I love these “little” insights. Yay!

    Hugs,
    Melody

    • Hi Melody. that is a great distinction you make. Atomic Action comes when you are totally present. It is not the other way around. The divided mind is taken over by many thoughts. Now you cannot be present to the moment. Now it is impossible to act in atomic fashion. Your awareness of your divided mind is pure gold! Now you can do something about it. blessings

  6. Hi Rob —-> ATOMIC ACTION! I love love it! I definitely need to make my days, weeks and months more ATOMIC! LOL :) I can be such a scatter brain. I think its just because I’m doing a lot of stuff I just don’t like doing and therefore don’t pay attention. Like my work can just be the total dregs 7.5 hours a day with a half hour of blog reading that feels atomic. If I could switch that ratio I would be unstoppable!! :) . I don’t think anybody can be atomic all the time, but I definitely need to focus on doing it more. Even though I don’t really like my job, if I could be more focused I’m sure it would help me get to where I want to be faster.

    • Hi Kara. Indeed, a scatter-brain cannot experience Atomic Action. As you read each of the sentences in this response, be aware of doing just that. Let nothing else interfere. In that moment, you are ready Act in Atomic Fashion. Just like that! blessings

  7. Rob,

I think so many people get stuck on the 3rd part of Step 1 (“Commit to feeling fresh and fully awake to what you are up to right now.”). It can be easy to keep our minds stuck on those past failures, and God knows I’ve struggled to sometimes let go of things that dragged me down in the past. Sure enough, it drags me down in the very moment I begin thinking about it. Our thoughts are powerful and (often) deadly things.

    • Hi Bryan. YES, step 3 is a big one. Here is a tip on how to take step 3: Consciously decline to go along with your robot-like reactions by saying aloud, “Be gone with thee’. REALLY! Simply saying ‘be gone with thee’, and hearing yourself say it … has you refuse to go along with the wrong way of thinking, which creates space for the right way. Try it; you’ll like it. blessings

  8. Hey brother man. I dig it. I’m all about it! Especially when you talk about step one: “Commit to making this moment’s action Atomic.” We can really do it in any moment we choose. We don’t have to wait for the universe to create the perfect circumstances — all moments are perfect — ya know, “present moment, wonderful moment” etc etc. We can return to atomic action any moment we choose! Even when stuck in traffic (the biggest challenge for me.) Now, I’m going to ask myself “How can I make this moment Atomic?” Maybe I just need to put on a good tune or notice the leaves on the trees. The important thing for me is to remember is that every moment can be atomic with right thinking.

    • Nice question, Rus … “How can I respond in atomic fashion to this moment?” This question impresses the mind and the emotions with good health. Thank you for that.

  9. Yes, this has a nice power punch Rob. I think we don’t live fully present enough and immerse ourselves in what we are doing, all energised, totally engaged in a timeless committment. If we could get out of our own way now and again we could swim in and harness the whole electric ocean of all that is, then all things come to us and flow from us at the very same time. Whether we are baking cookies or breaking records. I like this post, a lot!!

  10. Hi John. “Swim in and harness the whole electric ocean.” WOW, now that, I love! You are writing a book aren’t you? The stronger the truth given to anyone, the more atomic are his responses to life. That’s what I hear you saying, John. Thank you

  11. Roger Pascal says:

Hi Rob, I’m still thinking about last weeks “Fear” blog and how when I’m in flow with my work I am working with that atomic action. I love being in that zone. Michael Jordan always talked about being in the zone and seeing things in super clarity. That’s how I get when I’m in flow on the job. I can anticipate moves and moves ahead alway while being precise and efficient. Time just kind of stands still and I feel like I am doing exactly what I was put on this earth to do, and life is good because, hey – Jesus was a carpenter, BUT I bet he couldn’t fix a leaky toilet better than me!

    • Hi Roger. Indeed, when we are in the zone, we are Whole Minded and in the moment. Michael Jordan knows this well! Our early successes (walking, talking, reading & writing) consist of faint hints of being in the zone; do you remember? You sense that all would be well if you were in the zone more, don’t you. blessings.

  12. Hi Rob,

This Atomic post made me recall how I was not Atomic in my current relationships. I realized that I was far from being in the moment during my daily interactions with my wife and children. Even when I have made the decision to focus solely on them, I still find myself popping over to my blog mindset thinking about what else I could do to improve my internet business. I am truly ashamed. I recall the times when my daughter asked me something when I was still blogging. Obviously daddy turned a deaf ear to her when she spoke. How mean was I? I need to get out of this. I need to be more atomic with my relationships. Forget the rest.

I am Atomic these days when I am plunged into my work with my site. I seem to have all the energies for this. I never have enough time on my site. It is addiction? But the family depends on the success of this? Is that justification enough?

Personally for me, I think it is the balance of things that is important. How can we find a balance in the things we do? There will be many priorities. Once these have been set, it is all about making the things we do Atomic on the spot.

    • Hi Jimmy. You are truly seeking answers. It is clear in your comment. Yes, you are perfectly capable of Atomic Action in your relationships … with money … when on the internet … etc. Let yourself be Atomic with little matters, and it will unfold naturally with more important matters. Do this by letting your mind run toward your dreams and aspirations, not toward useless daily demands. That is what you did in this comment. NICE! Thank you.

  13. This may sound a little nutty, but when I have something from the past which persistently needs to be sent packing, but keeps on showing up in my mind as unresolved, I do a little visualization. I imagine myself in my mind’s eye and I draw a big circle around myself with an imaginary white light from above. I then imagine the past issue people advancing toward my bubble and piercing it. I tell them what I need to tell them, wish them well, send them blessings, and boot them out, literally. I see them flying far, far away, never to return. It is the only thing that keeps them away :)

    • Hi Julie. I love your tip. Using visualization to gain command of the mind works! The first faint realization that the mind is setting a trap, weakens the trap. That is what you are doing here. NICE! blessings

  14. Hi Rob,

Excellent post as usual my friend. Living in the present my friend is very crucial in life. Otherwise, we would be stuck in the past or the future. Also when we live in the present, we learn to focus our minds on what we want to accomplish instead of what we don’t want and we end up eliminating procrastination from our lives. I believe this skill requires constant training as our minds tend to wander and move from place to place constantly, but what a great skill to acquire… Thanks for sharing Rob, great post!

    • Hi Dia. YES, the mind tends to wander. When unattended, it moves in a circle, circling back to the past. knowing this is potential power. Be alert to the behavior of the mind. Be aware of what it is up to. Be awake to new ideas that come to you. Be alert … be aware … be awake. I love what that trio can do for me! blessings

  15. Hi Rob,

This was an excellent post, the owners of the company I work at just got back from Italy, a few weeks before that they came back from a vacation to a lake in Canada, and in a few more weeks they will be going to Hawaii. Still, they are some of the hardest workers I know.

They have taught me much about Atomic Action. One area I can feel it is in a post I’m exceptionally passionate about. When I get done writing I feel fulfilled and have no worries that it will be received warmly. I can leave the post aside and move forward to the rest of my duties.

    Thanks for the enlightenment,

    Bryce

    • Hi Bryce. I love your example of folks (your employees) who engage in Atomic Action, and thus have plenty of time for their leisure enjoyments. You are right on target with that example. The world we struggle with disappears when we learn to ‘Act In The Moment’, no doubt about it. blessings

  16. Hi Rob,

I love the terminology of Atomic Action. Very very cool and memorable. I feel this is synonomous with a flow experience where we are completely in the moment and engaged in what we are doing. Though I also feel atomic action is a little different and more broad in it’s application. It makes me realize how much more often I could be in the zone and really engaged in what I’m doing if I would only overcome worries and doubts. It’s not that we have to be doing that activity that is super challenging to be fully engaged, but more about learning to be mindful of what we are doing so we can perform in a way that is fully focused. Very interesting post. I liked it a lot.

    • Hi Joe. Thank you for the enthusiastic feedback. Indeed ‘flow’ and Aomic Action are kinfolks. Open one small window of awareness into this fact, and then act on the fact … and you will feel the result in psychic sunshine (deep within). blessings

  17. Hey rob. I live for those moments of Atomic Action. I think it is the ultimate goal of all artists to be in this state. It has an addictive quality. Think non-thinking, ya know. I would bet that the greatest artists spend 24 hours a day in Atomic Action. That’s how I want to be. Every move, every thought, every step I take I want it to support my music. Even when I’m riding the subway to work, I want the book I’m reading to inspire my creativity. I think we are wasting our lives if we let these moments pass us by. We might as well be in a dream if we are not paying attention to what we are up to and why we are here.

    • Hi John. YES, Atomic Action is a Marvelous Addiction, a Productive Addiction, a Life-Enhancing addiction. There’s nothing wrong with being addicted to something that feels marvelous, is productive, and enhances one’s life, is there, John. blessings

  18. > a total feeling of completion with each action.
    Beautiful and so true.

There is something powerful that happens when we can see the mini end-in-mind, and make it so.

My favorite way to slice things down to size is either size or quantity:
    1. Can I come up with 5 things?
    2. What can I do in 10 minutes or less?

    • Nice tip, JD.

YES, slicing a task down into smaller chunks always saves the day when we are feeling frustrated or overwhelmed?

Student: So what is a sure cure for overwhelm?
Teacher: Simply, slice it down into bite size chunks.

      Thank you

  19. SaltySailorMan says:

Ah, it makes me think of the good ole days. Being young and having seemingly boundless energy. When time flies by and there are simply not enough hours in the day to do all things there are to do. To me Atomic Action are those days when life is full of interesting projects and activities. When I was young we would sail all day, party at night then off to work in the boat yard in the AM. Looking back, it feels like everything just flowed from one thing to the next. Things change and life moves slower, which is okay. It’s nice to get old and learn to stop and smell the sea air more deeply. My fast paced Atomic days are behind me, but I still have plenty of plenty of sunset cruising Atomic twilights ahead.

    • Hi Salty. ‘Atomic Twilights’ … that’s perfect! Remember, the sighting of a new phase in life must precede the acquisition of a way to deal with it. Thank you

  20. My brain loves to live in the past, however when it is REALLY REALLY important to stay in the now – and I’m talking life and death here – i.e music or art :) – then I use a timer to tie my wondering mind down for short periods at a go. It is indeed exhilarating. To have a moment(s) where nothing else matters but what you choose to do.

I love the idea of absorbing atomic energy like the plants and I notice how other animals, whatever they may have been through, (on the most part), can forget everything at once and enjoy the now with ease.

    • Hi Pea. Your brain loves to wander through the graveyard of the dead past because your brain cells are made for memorizing past experiences. As you’ve pointed out, just knowing this gives you an advantage over robot-like reactions. Thank you.

  21. Carol Anne says:

C’mon Rob, you bake cookies! I don’t believe it :) . I see what you mean though. I realized I love cooking because it is a great time to focus and tune out everything else. For 45 minutes I can do that one thing confidently and not think about anything else. Doing the dishes is another matter :) . I do experience the Atomic Action feeling with my business from time to time… clearly not enough though. It’s those moments that keep me going and plugging along. Most of the time it is hard work, but there are times when everything comes together and is in perfect flow: the clients are happy, the captains are happy, my worker bees are happy and I’m happy too. I think we would all do well to experience it more and more. When it’s happening and I know it, I always say to myself “I wish everyday could be this way.”

    • hi Carol Anne. After experiencing ourselves engaging in Atomic Action, we all say, “I wish I could experience more days this way.” And the good news is … we can, if we really mean it. The more we do it, the easier it is to do it again. Blessings

  22. Hello Rob. I also feel in the flow when I am cooking. I don’t know if it is a right brain thing or what but when I am being creative I am totally in the moment.

It’s funny that you brought up past failures affecting the present moment. I have been experiencing “blocks” getting to the next level in my career. I keep having dreams of my previous job and I think that these dreams are a message for me to get over it. The dreams about my previous job are always pleasant.

    Take Care …

    • Hi Justin. Dreaming is simply thinking while asleep. It seems that you are not complete with your past job (as you noticed), or you wouldn’t continue to think about it while asleep. How strange that we think we are finsihed with the past, when sometimes we are not. (I know!). blessings

  23. Hey, I came over here from JK’s site. The name atomic action is absolutely perfect. Did you develop that name? You should make it a trademark because it’s great. An atom is indivisible, the smallest piece that is still an element. In computer programming atomic transactions are ones that cannot be interrupted, trusted to finish without some nasty side-effect coming in to derail it part way through.

I’m glad I found your site. Thanks JK.

    • Hi Alex. Indeed Atomic Action is powerful; it chunks the act into its smallest portions, which guarantees satisfaction. The more you ask from yourself when acting in the moment, the more you get from yourself, there’s no doubting this fact. Act on this fact, and you engage in Atomic Action. blessings

  24. I think something I need to work one is being complete with my past. I think my parents did a number on my head. It must be why I can’t make peace with alcohol and women. I just don’t know why I get so hung up and guilty around things that aren’t a big deal to everybody else. If I could be whole minded in those situations I would be natural and easy. You know instead of getting all nervous and jerky. It must be a subconscious thing with me – it’s like I am debating my parents when I order a drink or working up the nerve to talk to a girl. It’s enough to drive a man crazy!

    • Hi Alan. I think you get some sort of strange pleasure out of blaming your past for your problems today. Begin depending upon your present strengths, and you will act in an atomic fashion. Invisible powers are within you. Blessings

  25. At this very moment in my life, I am feeling the Atomic Action when I am practicing healing with the miracle balls…When I first place a ball in position such as under the hips or between the shoulder blades the pain is intense and controlling as I roll my weight into position and then I begin the breathing and let go of the resistance and as I fully rely on the ball the pain beings to release ball -> weight -> to breath = pain relief. I can do nothing else – today I noticed that it only took me 8 minutes to get to relief between my shoulder blades… total let go/total focus and 3-4 hours of pain relief achieved…
I used to be able to do this with cooking and still can get close on my walk…but the plantar fasciitis is still tweaking the foot.
The other result = normal blood sugar levels and normal blood pressure for hours…less food needed for energy and feeling better and better.

I am also amazed how quickly the head can bring up the old news and how long it takes me to change the channel – then again I need to be patient because I have had 60 + year practicing that!
Liked the post – came back a second time to tell you so

    • Hi Patricia. We need hide nothing from the truth. The truth never hide anything from us. The more willing you are to look at your problems, seeking out the truth about how to solve them, the quicker you find yourself engaging in Atomic action (as you are noticing). NICE. Thank you.

Man, I must be missing out on something. There’s not anything (healthy) that gets me into that state. To me it seems like all my vices are Atomic action… more like Nuclear! I used to love smoking because the ritual of lighting up would give me that elation. Thank god I managed to quit! LOL >>> I think I can only think of bad habits that get me feeling Atomic…

    • Hi Ramone. YES, we can use Atomic Action in reverse, and destroy our lives quickly. Drug addicts do it. Hitler did it. The secret to success is to point your mind in the right direction. blessings

  27. thank you for the wonderful insights Jd
and thank you rob for hosting Jd’s post

    • Hi farouk. Thank you for expressing gratitude. It reminds me of this: “The more I learn to express my appreciation, the more I attract wonderful things to me (to further appreciate). blessings

  28. Magic Marc says:

OH snap, ROB… you know my action is atomic 24/7 cuz I’m always BLOWING UP!!! If anything, I need to slooooo000w down because I’m constantly wheelin n DEALin. When I make up my mind I don’t mess around and wait for someone else to help me make my bones – I’m takn action. I didn’t kNOW I was so naturally ATOMIC until NOW HAHHA!!! When I’m ROCKN Out and trying to hook up I’m just BOOM BOOM BOOM – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! Now I’m constantly looking for ways to put those same SKILLZ to make MAD MONEY. I know I got all the Charisma, smarts and GOOD LOOkS! :) to make it happen. MY biggest job is to figure out exactly HOW i’m gonna do it. Once I do that it will be like shootn fish in a barrel. I’ve learned I can’t be atomic about EVERYTHING – yes even I aint the greatest at everything. I’m figuring out exactly what I want ATOMIC MARC to be about next. Hookn up and all that stuff is fun but I’m gearing up for a NUCLEAR age of exisitence baby HAHAHAH… It aint easy having a future so bright i got to be sportn sunglasses at night!! Once that ATOMIC ACTIOn kicks off you be able to see me KICKN A$$ and takn names from SPACE, SOn…. that goona be some ATOMIC SHIZ for real! PEACE

    • Hi Magic. YES, it seems your action is atomic, though I’m not certain that it may sometimes be atomic in the wrong direction? Tricky thoughts can lure us into traps; beware taking atomic action where traps are set! blessings

  29. Richard Roma says:

You know that’s funny Rob. In my hey day it seems I had a lot of time for goofing off. I feel like I was always shooting off to Las Vegas or Miami or NYC for a weekend of partying. Indeed, we worked hard and played hard. Not that I want to relive those manic years but there was a hyper drive we had to get rich and party hard. All it was, was a kind of atomic action… it wasn’t exactly spiritual or healthy but I was successful at it. As you know, I want to experience that same success for a my higher purpose. It’s a battle because I lost sense of what it means to have “fun.” The things that I think are fun I would have deemed boring. So, I’m still trying to reconcile those two parts of me. The manic atomic me that wants to self destruct and the atomic me that wants to light up the world! Man, I’ve become cheesy in my mid-life crisis :)

    • Hi Richard. ‘The manic atomic you that wants to self-destruct’ … ask it a question about joyfully achieving. You cannot ask a snake about stars! Know this part of you is false, it’s has no foundation in reality. blessings

Hi Rob, What I know about myself is that if I get home at the end of the day and feel like I’ve diddled around and didn’t really accomplish anything I feel a little depressed. So as a result I’ve learned that this Atomic Action state is the most satisfying and rewarding. What keeps me focused during the day is knowing I want to come home and feel satisfied when my head hits the pillow. Life is too short to be frittered away with useless activity that doesn’t add up to a hill of beans. By taking deliberate, focused action everyday, all of a sudden one day we look up and realize we’ve accomplished a hell of a lot. It may not feel like it while we are doing it, but I think it is an accumulative process. This was my experience with building my firm and even starting a family – one day I realized, gee. Look at all I’ve got done!

    • Hi Georgie. At the end of the day, when you realize you got a lot done, it is not your duty to understand how it happened, it is your duty to appreciate the ease with which you did all of it. What you appreciate, you attract more of. blessings

  31. I’m coming a bit late to this discussion, but I have to tell you that my brain just exploded with atomic action energy when I read this! Wow. I’m not kidding. I am so fired up right now. I think you just changed my life. I love the phrase and everything you did with it. This is a beyond awesome post.

    • Hi Galen. Thank you for catching on to the fact that you can atomically act. Insight into your real nature (which is what has you exuberant), protects you from lolly-gagging through life. It sounds to me like you are ready for that! blessings

  32. I love the term Atomic Action. It makes me think of the micro and the macro. It so pertinent because we have to be “micro” focused in our daily lives. Things like doing the dishes and walking to work with mindfulness are the little things we can do in any moment. With all these little atomic action steps aligned we can do great things. I love writing poetry, and I know I write my best with a calm and clear mind. I only feel that peaceful state when I pay attention to being mindful of the little things… as a result a great big bang of poetry flows out of me. Like an atomic bomb of peace & love and harmony :) if such a thing can exist haha. :)
