Please note: Part 2 of Conversations with rob with Jk Allen of The Hustler’s Notebook is now up. Be sure to check out this empowering dialogue.
Now, on with this week’s blog…
How Do I inspire myself?
Excellent question; I’m glad you asked.
(1) I make it an adventure to step out of the known and familiar.
Getting into the restaurant business, with no experience other than eating in restaurants, was a great adventure for me … one that I treasure.
Helen Keller said, “Life is a daring adventure or nothing.” I do not want to hear myself saying (on my deathbed), “My life was nothing.”
(2) I pause to let my true nature (not my conditioned self), make important decisions for me.
I was born in a small mill town, fraught with thoughts of poverty. I cannot allow this conditioned bobbie to make big decisions for me.
I had an opportunity to get involved in sun tanning booths years ago (I met the inventor).
My conditioned self said ‘NO’.
My gut said ‘YES’.
I went with my gut, in spite of all the great reasons my conditioned self came up with that said it was a bad idea.
I made oodles and met some great folks because of that project.
(3) I learned to unite myself with natural Forces.
Sowing and Reaping is a natural force of nature.
I used to try to reap the lazy way (early twenties). I didn’t want to go the extra mile. I thought it meant that I was being taken advantage of.
How foolish.
Now, I love giving and giving and giving, knowing that reaping and reaping and reaping is in my tomorrow. I am known as a very generous person. I am also known as a very wealthy person (not only financially but in many other ways).
(4) I rarely set negative causes into motion any more.
There was a time when I got a cheap thrill from living with melodrama.
There was a time when I would get defensive and even start stupid trouble when others did not agree with me.
There was a time when I would argue to be right until I was blue in the face.
Ah, the insane times!
There, you have it. You asked. I gave it to you right now, with this blog. There is something precious in this blog for you. Which one of the above lessons triggers something inside of you?
Might I share a story?
There was a seagull who flew with the seagull flock, like good seagulls do. One day he got separated – he wondered why none of them liked him. He found the flock once again, and joined them once again … but one day he found himself falling behind at the end of the flock – he wondered why he wasn’t as good as them.
Then a moment came … he went out on his own to make his life an adventure rather than nothing …. and soon thereafter, he found himself leading a large flock of seagulls in flight – he knew the truth - ‘we are all marvelously made and destined to win at whatever we set our minds to’.
This blog should open a small window in your psychic home; did it?
What can you share?
I look forward to your feedback …. Blessings, rob

Rob,
It’s such a great thing, isn’t it, when we step into the unknown (even when there’s some fear involved in doing it). I’ve found this, too – when I step into new areas, I expand my own horizon (and hopefully help to expands someone else’s as well). And in that expansion – my life adventures (whether they look like adventures to others or not) bring new meaning into my life.
So, here’s to saying YES to life and the unknowns we face!!
Hi lance. When you separate what is your own and what is not your own, you will find that insecurity is not your own, now you can step into the unknown. Your insecurties belong to the 60,000 NO’s you heard from age 2 to 6 (when you naturally loved to explore). blessings.
I’m stepping into the unknown right now. And it’s a strange feeling. A good feeling, but it’s definitely more emotional that I anticipated.
But yes, I quit my job today. It feels right. Now I have to fly around and find my own flock to lead!
Hi David. You quit your job today. You react to that event with nervousness because of the 60,000 NO’s you heard between age 2 and 6. But a superior way to see it awaits your discovery. You can feel that, can’t you. Congrats! blessings
Wow cool rob. I can see all the things I do to de-inspire myself now! LOL. Haha the cheap thrill of melodrama – I’m soooo guilty of that one. Just last week I got into a text war with my roommate. We were arguing over the trash for like 3 hours all on text message! The worst part is she was in her room and I was in mine. It’s so so stupid. It was just a downward spiral into catty name calling. That stuff is so draining. It happened on Sunday and I was still playing it over and over in my head til like tuesday. I was like oh, I should have said this this and this. Ughh how dumb. Sorry for venting here but these are the things that really distract me from realizing all my potential. I know if I can drop these stupid habits there’d be no stopping me.
Hi Kara. thank you for sharing how to de-inspire yourself. We all have a 1001 ways to do that. When we notice what we are doing wrong, we can do something about it. Nice noticement. blessings.
Hi Rob,
Your first point made me think about a post Dino shared this week about Facebook and Google+ keeping us from “stepping out from the known and familiar”
A lot of us are on social networks and we circle ourselves with friends and acquaintances that have similar interests. It’s like the old high school clicks but in the digital age.
I appreciate this point about getting out there and experiencing new things, new people, new challenges. That is certainly a great way to inspire yourself.
See you again soon,
Bryce
Hi Bryce. When we lift our spirit just one degree about the social click to which we belong, we lift humanity a notch. Unfortunately clicks become a herd of grazing sheep that create a comfort zone … and at that point, life is no longer a daring adventure. blessings
Hi Rob, thanks for the personal insights. I was definitely shocked awake when I started realizing that I better start doing something before I end up in the grave having led a mediocre life. I really was a sad sack right up to a year or two ago because I had this cloud over my head and could not figure out what it was. What it comes down to is taking on those “daring adventures.” I’m not aiming to become like a Jacques Cousteau, but I had to do SOMETHING different. What that means for me is rekindling all my passions that got put on the back burner when I decided to get beaten down by life. I simply fill my spare time with doing fun things like camping, motorcycles and really appreciating my family life. Those are pretty daring adventure for me! Especially when I do all three at once. haha!
Hi Roger. You won’t end up having led a mediocre life. You have learned that only your imaginary world can be destroyed ( the imaginary world that comes from the 60,000 NO’s that you heard in childhood moments of fear and pain). When that world is destroyed, the real world reveals itself (and it’s a daring adventure). You’re in that world, Roger. blessings.
Hi Rob,
I always love reading your insights as I always love to incorporate everything I learn from you into my life. Taking chances and facing the unknown is needed in life, so we can achieve wonders. If we don’t challenge our fears, then we stay victims. When we face the unknown while we have great faith in ourselves and God, we can move confidently and we are able to go the extra mile. I have two questions Rob:
1. Can you elaborate more on “I used to try to reap the lazy way?” You mean at that time, you didn’t use to give generously like now?
2. Do you believe that it is possible for someone to be 90% or more satisfied and happy with life without major challenges? In other words, is it possible for us to have healthy relationships, excellent health, own a successful business, have excellent money and don’t suffer in any life domain?
I think if we reach this stage to be more than 90% happy in all life domains, then this is great achievement. of course, there will be always room for improvement…
Thanks for sharing my friend, great post as always
Hi Dia. Yes, I will answer your two questions because of your sincerity.
(1) Most folks sow in order to receive, Dia. They do not sow in order to expand that which they are sowing. Johnny Appleseed planted apple seeds everywhere he went because he delighted in the vision of apple trees everywhere; blossoming trees giving fresh apples to animals and mankind every fall season. The consequence of his sowing in that manner was phenomenal; he received a ten-fold return of rich fruit of every nature.
I would sow and feel resentful if I did not get what I wanted. It was a selfish attitude (not a generous one). Most folks still sow with this attitude. Today, my attitude is very different. If I do a good deed for you, it is because I know I am contributing to the goodness of life. PERIOD. That’s genuine sowing. What comes of this is always incredible. It applies in business, in relationships, in life (in general).
(2) I believe we can be 95% happy with life without harassing challenges interrupting. There are 44 folks on the planet who are 100% happy with no blips at all. These are called FULLY REALIZED BEINGS. We are all capable of this, but so few realize the experience. Most folks are 33% happy. Some are 66% happy. The 90 to 95% happy group are rare, only because of the 60,000 NO’s that have convinced us that it is impossible.
I love your spirit, Dia. blessings
This was an awesome response Rob. I just wanted to let you know that Dia wasn’t the only one that benefited from reading it. Thanks for sharing.
Rob,
I inspire myself by clinging to the belief He does a have a plan for me. I see it being played out everyday and its simply inspiring!
Alex
Hi Alex. This ‘HE’ that has a plan for you is at the summit of the highest level of human consciousness. It is called ‘Father Consciousness’, and ancient script teaches that it is the Divine Omniscience that is part of every living soul. Would you agree with this? blessings
Yes, I agree Rob.
Alex
I just had to ask for help again and found out it is another area in my life where I am going to have to pay for the help.
I first was just so discouraged because I felt the sting of being in special ed. and all the name calling resonated through my being. I just had to sit in that feeling for a little while…then it started bleeding into other areas where I feel great and have succeeded by trying, stepping out, and diving deep.
One of the nice things about dyscalcula is that I am a flexible thinker. So I began thinking about how wonderful it would be to pay someone to help me market Wise Ears and to stop struggling with SEO and Keywords yet still achieve clients in the area that I excel and am highly skilled…So now I am working on figuring out how to find the first $150 retainer and then second $100 for this months keywords….new ideas keep popping into my head…
I think I have a rather unique new thing, that people know they need for a reasonable price…it is better to pay someone to help me than spend another 2 months trying to figure out what I am not able to do…
here we go…heading out…practicing flying – your post was perfectly timed for funk removal Thank you
Hi Patricia. I sense that you are onto something. At your highest level of envisioning, there is a door through which you can slip … and when you slip through, you are free of all the negative influences that haunt you. Now you will find everything you are seeking, including the money you desire to make your dream come true. blessings
Hey brother – How do I inspire myself? Man, how can people NOT be inspired everyday with so much love and beauty in the world. It’s miracle just being alive. I think if people just learned to appreciate how vast and connected the universe is they would see through the smoke screen of all the BS. I think all the things you talk about are about letting go of our urge to suffer and struggle with everything. There is a flow to life and we have to learn to get out of the way. I’m inspired by the prospect of just being able to go into my day and feel that great peace love and harmony as much as I can. It can be a challenge, but I take it on everyday. It is always new, exciting and awesomely rewarding. In a way, you could say I’m inspired by the idea of being inspired!
Hi Rus. You are an inspiring person because you are always seeking the creative power of optimistic thoughts and joyful feelings. You cannot miss with that combination. Thank you for who you are. blessings
Hi Rob,
Stepping out into the unknown is truly one of the greatest adventure in life. Although fear and insecurity abounds, the promise of learning new things about yourself certainly makes it worth it. Plus there is always that 50% chance that your idea or what you are doing make be right. Whatever it is, that is how life shouldbe live – a daring adventure where the fun never ends.
Cheers
Hi Jimmy. I appreciate your point of view. The full realization of your truly creative essence does not suddenly burst upon you unless you make your life a daring adventure, and have the courage to take chances (in spite of the odds). What you are seeking (a glimpse at your unlimited nature) is seeking you. Take the chance! blessings
Hi Rob,
The hardest thing for most folks is getting out of their comfort zone and taking a chance in life. This is where life really begins for us. I feel totally bored with routine and love to face new experiences and challenges.
I had to laugh at creating melodramas in your life. I’ve been there and done that too and can see what a complete waste of time it is.
Hi Justin. We need not prove anything to anyone, need we Justin. When I finally got this truth, I was able to banish melodrama from my life. it’s a big one. thank you
You’re so unique Rob and it’s such a privilege for you to open so much of you and share it with the world! 1, 2, 3 I’m in! I completely relate to these and appreciate them immensely! #1 resonates deepest with me and #4 is a fairly foreign to me.
Your capacity to give is immeasurable and I think most admirable of all. When I read what you write; especially posts like this, I feel deeply that I’m on the right track in life, it just hasn’t all “aligned” for me yet.
Thank you for being wonderful you and giving without fail! I’m humbled to be privy to a bit of your mind, heart and soul and what a gift this is!! I’m grateful to have learned from you – you really make me feel ok in this wacky world!
Peace to you friend,
Elena
Hi Elena. Your bright spirit lights up the blog-room. You contribute wonderfully by simply dropping by. The secret that you are seeking is this: Let the answers to life come to you; wish to be free of all self-harming thoughts, and let the answers come. You shall be free! blessings
I like the way you follow your heart and live with passion.
> “Life is a daring adventure or nothing.”
I haven’t heard this quote in a while and it’s a powerful one. I like wise one-liners.
For me, my inspiration flows from four simple things:
1. Getting up to bat to execute against my mission
2. Giving my best where I have my best to give.
3. Living my values
4. Answering the question, who do I want to be and what experiences do I want to create?
Mostly, I like to test possibilities and grow in ways that surprise me, and flex my skills along the way.
Hi J.D. Notice how much nervous and needless effort people put into things. Now notice how much nervous and needless effort you still put into things, even though you have improved 1,000 percent. Keep noticing, and keep going. You are an unlimited being, still pretending to be limited in some ways, aren’t you. I am. We all are (except for the 44 fully realized human beings on the planet right now. blessings
Hi robert, I like the title of this article. I think we all have to realize that nobody can inspire you but yourself. People really have to be willing to stop whining and realize that at a certain point we have to wake up and say, “you know what, it’s all on me. I’m all alone in this and no one is going to do it for me, so I better hurry up because no one here gets out alive.” No one motivated Hellen Keller – she wouldn’t be able to hear it anyway. The older I get the more real and urgent this becomes. This goes beyond doing something trite like making a “Bucket List.” Pahh! I say to that. That’s just scatter shot, desperation. We really need to learn to live deeply everyday – I refuse to waste a day living in a haze that is not dedicated to truth and beauty.
Hi Salty. When it is to be, it is absolutely up to thee, Salty. Indeed. When we take this on as true, we stop making wrong decisions and we stop making wrong moves in life. You so know that. blessings
Hi Rob!
I love stepping into the unknown. It’s a lifestyle and like you, I’d rather have a ton of adventures than play is safe. One of my favorite quotes is:
“Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting “Holy Shit, what a ride!” – Anonymous
Hugs,
Melody
Hi Melody. thank you for that quote. After reading it in the lightness that it is meant, a feeling of peaceful releases flows through me. Thank for the gift.
Hiya Rob,
I found you from reading the awesome post from Jk Allen’s blog. I’m so glad that I did. This post speaks volumes to me. It’s my life, right down to the first breath I’d ever taken. I’ve always felt like I didn’t fit in, and often found myself going through extremes to do so. I definitely was in need of some changes in my life and many of the points you made above was just how I went about making the needed changes. I absolutely loved this post. The story of the seagull was equally amazing. All in all, this post… Awesomeness! I’ll certainly be frequenting back in the future. All the best to you my friend.
Hi Deeone. I sense you are up to something great. I know why we’ve met. I love helping those who are finally willing to help themselves. You’ve been through a lot. You are now ready to live a lot. You have been called to make a marvelous discovery about yourself. Quietly see that you have an incredible treasure to find deep within yourself so that you may share it with the world. the rewards will be beyond your wildest imaginings. blessings
I’m learning that in life it’s best to sometimes to keep it simple. With that being said, all that I will say to your response Rob is, “I understand perfectly” and “Thank you.” I’m glad you’ve entered my life. All the best to you mate.
Your friend in Atlanta,
Deeone
Rob,
This is one of most effective posts yet in my opinion. Each of these four points is so poignant for what it takes to move beyond our ordinary expectations and ideas. I particularly connect with number four. There was a time when I thought that I was my feelings and I needed to respond accordingly. I have learned that just because I feel a certain way doesn’t mean this is has any impact on my worth or value. I used to want to be right and get the last word in. I feel that so many struggles can be avoided if strive to leave negativity out of our life.
Hi Joe. thank you. I like the clarity with which you communicated what you had to say. You’ve come a long way. Never mind the reckless drivers who only seek fast thrills and self-glory. Ask constantly, “where am I going and why.” It guarantees an easy life for you, Joe. blessings
Hi Rob, I wish I could trust my gut more when it comes to business. I think I’ve been too cautious. I’m sick of working so hard and have always felt I’ve been on the edge of hitting on that one thing that can get me over the hump. For other things in life I’m good at trusting my intuition. I always wonder why I can’t transfer that over to the business world. I kind of think it goes back to last weeks blog. If our endeavors are not aligned with out true nature, they are false goals and the universe will never give you a “lucky break” if you don’t really believe in them.
Hi Carol Anne. You CAN trust your gut more when it comes to business. What not to trust is that wailing voice that screams, “NO!” You have learned much, Carol Anne. You are a great student of the truth. blessings
Boy, do you ask the wisest and most profound questions Rob. How do I inspire myself? In the last year it’s been to answer to what I feel inside. I am foregoing the world beyond my skin, the life outside that’s evolved from my decisions long gone, to respond to what’s volcano like inside yet also a rippling wave of self-activation. In allowing that natural spark to ignite the ‘real’ world must manifest in ways to support it and gradually it is. I am inspired as it comes together. Love your thoughts Rob and the subtle call to action infused here. I hear you brother!
Hi John. Man was stunned when he learned of the awesome power contained in an atom. You are stunned to learn of the awesome power found in you. Your writing shows it. thank you
Hi Rob, I’ve spent many a year looking for things or people to inspire me. I tend to blame others whenever I am bored or morose. I am always looking for excitement and thrills and when I don’t find it I get, well, you know… angry at life in general. For instance, I used to dislike my co-workers and boss because I thought they were were boring. Then I started to hate my job because I thought there was no inspiration or motivation. It’s my passion that causes these extreme highs and lows. I’ve finally come to accept that I am always looking for “something else”… whatever that is. I’m looking to do something that is more like a steady state of feeling good. Everything is like a roller coaster with me. I’m adventurous but I think I get involved with self-destructive adventures… I guess thats better than nothing!
Hi Ramone. A big reason you have been angry for so long is because you believed other people were suppose to inspire you. What a breakthrough to learn that ‘if it is to be it is up to thee!’ blessings
Hi Rob, It’s good to hear about your own struggles. We all have our little crosses to bear, don’t we. I am always vacillating between the negative and the positive of those things you point out. As a musician I would like to say that I can lift my thinking above the same old struggles of ego vs. expression. I find when I cop out on life and feel like I can’t live up to my goals I back slide into things that set “negative causes into motion.” I get involved with stupid soap operas, argue with the band or do something to blow a gig (I just did that one!). I want to get to the point where things just click and flow for me. It always seems that when one thing is going well, another thing is going to hell in a handbasket. I don’t know why that is.
Hi John. AH, the soap operas, right John? It’s a very popular hobby to get involved in soap operas, but also a very expensive one – it costs us our lives! blessings
I was just reviewing my past yesterday and realized that whenever I stepped into the unknown, new pathways of opportunity opened up. These were unexpected. Some of these eventually became turning points for me. I just knew yesterday that I had to congratulate myself for taking the dare.
I love the affirmations that you have put out for our consideration. Thank you!
Hi Evelyn. You are here to utilize your hidden talents. That which you have assembled as part of your unrealized potential – let no man tear asunder. Do you know what that means? How does it apply to you? You’re a wonderful seeker, Evelyn. Keep going. blessings
Man, I’m like that seagull who gets separated from the flock. I think that if I just stick with what I’m doing people will see the real me. I always feel like I’m just out there on my own flapping in the breeze. I kind of do like that, but then I feel like I want to just go join the flock. I guess I’m just a loner by nature. I do want to have an adventurous life, but I don’t think I want to be alone doing it.
Hi Alan. You want a brighter tomorrow. that is the point. You want to control your life (not allow past NO’s to control you). that is the point. all of the rest is fluff. blessings
Great post, Rob.
The problem with living in the daily sameness of a rut is that there is no growth, no real decision making, no significant trial and error. And so there can be no real, lasting happiness either.
I love the simpleness of the three-step process. Sometimes we read (or write!) posts something along the lines of “157 Absolutely Essential Steps to Living a Happy Life.” But the steps are so numerous, we give up half way through, or else we do nothing because there’s no focus. This, on the other hand, is great.
Thanks for the
Hi Ken. To be youthful. To know who you are. To be unafraid and free of pressure. These are what we all truly value. I try not to let complications confuse me about this. Thus, I try to keep it brief. thank you
Hi Rob, Stepping out of the familiar and into the unknown is something I would like to do a lot more of. I followed a pretty steady track my whole life and am ready for some more adventure. I must admit I don’t know exactly what that means or looks like for me. I’ve started travelling more, now that I have more time, but these aren’t exactly daring adventures. It is a pretty safe and touristy experience… my wife likes to do travel group tours. Sometimes I think I want to something like buy a Harley or climb Kilimanjaro but this just reeks of mid-life crisis to me. I’ve been steady eddy for so long now I’m out of touch with real excitement and adventure. I’m at point in my life where I don’t want for anything and can retire whenever I feel like it, so I am grappling with exactly what my big breakthrough and adventure will be.
Hi Georgie. What will your breakthrough event be? Work at not doing the things you usually do, and it will come to you, Georgie. blessings
Hi Rob,
This was amazing. You’ve had such a great journey through life and I think it’s absolutely generous of you to share your experiences and lessons with us, for you could be doing anything else in the world that you wanted.
From this blog post, I took away the following lessons from each point on how you inspire yourself
-
I MAKE IT AN ADVENTUE TO STEP OUT OF THE KNOWN AND FAMILIAR.
I have certain interest and I’ve let those interest drive me. They are comfortable and don’t cause me much confusion or frustration. But they often times lack excitement and “freshness”. You getting into the restaurant biz, just because you wanted to get in to that industry, not because you were a chef or had previous experience – yells to me that I need to spread my wings and be willing to get uncomfortable in order to have more to be inspired about.
-
I PAUSE TO LET MY TRUE NATURE MAKE IMPORTANT DECISIONS FOR ME.
This one hit me hard. Almost felt like someone snapped a rubber band across my forehead. Too many times have I failed, because I lost at the very important battle of following what my gut tells me. I say fail, but not in the since of not achieving what I was after…but because I went to follow my mind…that thing in my head that sometimes thinks it’s the master of reason. When my gut tells me something is right – and I make that decision; I feel great about it. When my gut tells me something, and I go against its advice – I feel like I get punched in the gut. I guess that’s the guts way of showing me who is the boss.
-
I LEARNED TO UNITE MYSELF WITH NATURAL FORCES.
I’ve always believed in idea of reaping and sowing…but from you I’ve learned that sowing with the intent of reaping is NOT the formula I’m after. Sowing with the intent to give value tagged with no focus on the harvest – is what reaps the greatest harvest.
-
I RARELY SET NEGATIVE CAUSES INTO MOTION ANYMORE.
During our very first call when you introduced me to my ego…I’ve been much more aware of its presence. I haven’t totally disbarred it ( I would like to), but after a situation I can tell when it reared its head. I’ve mellowed out big time over the last year because I hate the idea of my ego getting the best of me and taking over situations. While in the moment, a question runs through my mind asking if I’d be disappointed after the moment because of my ego. This gives me a calming effect during the moment that that alerts me of its presence .
-
This was a great exercise Rob. I’m inspired. Not only by this post, but from myself after really putting thought into what this post meant to me and for me. I feel like the seagull before his own flock arrived.
Blessings
Hi Jk. You have commented on my blog in such a marvelous way that it challenges the blog we did together on your site this week. You are really getting good at this stuff. Do you know why? You are learning the secret of a successful life: DO NOT STRAIN TO SEEK THE TRUTH. SIMPLY CEASE TO HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR OLD CHERISHED OPINIONS, AND THE TRUTH WILL SEEK YOU OUT (and it will give you all you need to live the life of which you and your wife dream). I love what you’ve shared here. It’s the guts of a great book. blessings
Hi Rob,
I really like what you said about “rarely set negative causes into motion any more.” I have some more work to do in this area. I tend to take things personally and become defensive when there is no need to. I am more prone to do this when I am operating from my “lower self”. My “lower self” comes into play when I am tired, irritated, annoyed, overwhelmed or haven’t been taking care of myself. I know how to do better, but don’t always set myself up so that I do. I am really committed to changing this. Life is so much better without the drama.
hi Lisa. We all have ‘drama queen tendencies’; it is built into our culture; just watch television. Ridding oneself of the lower self’s influence is a shedding process (like a snake that sheds its old skin to begin fresh and new). you have begun! blessings
Yo rob-iz-ooo. This one is DOPE! People are always asking me what I’m “on” cuz they can’t wrap their heads around the fact that I am all jacked up on LIFE BABY. Like you I inspire myself 24/7!!! All those suckers who run to Tony Robbins or some other whack-job will always be behind the 8 ball cuz they don’t want to take responsibility for their lame ass decisions in life. OHHH THE HARRAH of it all. I think people are just to scared and stuffed up to say what it is they really want. I’m always ready to step into the UNKNOWN if it looks like fun. WHY NOT?! The difference between me and the HAZBENs / NEVERWILLBEEZ is that I’m always saying “WHY NOT” while they are saying “WHY WHY WHY WHA WHA WHA …. Mmybe the SECRET will tell me WHAT TO DO!!!” HAHAHhAH. Life just ain’t that complicated – anyone can be successful if they just stopped denying that LIFE should be a ROCK OUT! Thats why all the seaguls and especially ALL the LADY GULLS flock to my block. HAHAHHAH. PEACE SON!
You are right, Magic. It just ain’t complicated. It is as easy to be successful as it is to be unsuccessful. Nice noticement. Thank you.
Hi Rob, for the longest time I had the most sneaky and clever ways to “set negative forces into motion.” As much as I purported to be above it all I had a knack for gossiping. Even though I proclaimed to be the “spiritual” one with my friends and co-workers I could easily slide into petty gossip to add a little spice to my life. I had all kinds of ways to justify it in my head, I thought I was somehow teaching and enlightening by pointing out how flawed other people lives were. I’ve gotten much better at letting things be and allowing people to be however they want to be. I’ve realized its not my job to try to save everybody and the best thing I can do for my friends is try to be an example of love and harmony by acting that way as much as I can.
Thank you for that insight, Alicia. We all have sneaky and clever ways to put negative karma into motion. Just noticing that empowers us to change it. Thank you
I feel like I’ve lived a virtuous life that is in line with those principles, Rob. But I don’t think that means life is a cake walk and I’m happy all the time. Life sure can be a struggle. I am still prone to heartbreak and financial woes and think this is because I have never sold out on my dreams of expressing my highest calling. People need to realize that the experience of living for your true nature requires sacrifice and discipline. The reward is worth it. Without the suffering I’d never know great joy of pure expression.
Hi Rob, I love the brevity of this one. I think you have a winning formula here. The “conditioned me” is my biggest obstacle these days. Now that I’m aware of that part of me I get into a mental tug of war. I want to be successful but now I know I need to do it for the right reasons. Making money and being a big shot is easy when the Ego is driving the show. I find its much harder to find something that really satisfies my quest for a higher purpose. My conditioned self Shouts DO IT THIS WAY but my “gut” instinct only comes through in whispers.
