Gold Every Day

Please note: I am a guest at Jk Allen’s Blog in a
special feature called Conversations with rob
When I mingle with right thoughts, I know the people to mingle with for right relationships. James Allen is just such a person for me. Those who really want to know the secrets of success listen to those who really want to uncover the secrets, and want to share them. Jk is such a person. I am delighted to work with Jk so he can share what he discovers with you. It is not risky at all to risk exposing oneself in favor of finding the truth. Jk is taking this risk. How can you find answers to your dreams and aspirations in a minimum of time? I suggest you go on over to the Hustler’s Notebook and participate with Jk. I can promise you that it will leave you in a different place than you are right now.

Now, lets get on with this week’s Blog: Gold Every Day

Imagine engaging in the fine art of self-discovery every day. If you sincerely did this, you would discover gold every day.   The art of self-discovery is most fascinating. It makes apparent the foolishness of running after false goals.

Whatever false pleasure we get from false goals today, we pay for tomorrow:

(1.) Have you ever sacrificed a friendship because you insisted you were right and refused to back down? (insisting on being right – false goal

(2.) Have you ever said something just to look good, and end up regretting it later? (trying to look good – false goal)

(3.) Have you ever tried to dominate a situation for fear of being dominated, only to have it come back to bite you? (trying to dominate – false goal)

(4.) Have you ever said something just for ego-satisfaction, and had it backfire? (ego-satisfaction – false goal)

Engaging in the art of self-discovery always yields true gold:

(1.) Have you ever sought to understand something in spite of your obstinate point of view? (seeking to understand helps you learn more about the truly flexible you – fabulous goal)

(2.) Have you ever forgiven someone for something they did even though it was difficult to do? (when you forgive others, you forgive yourself for begrudging thoughts you hold about yourself, and immediately you start  taking yourself lightly.  When you lighten up, you discover hidden talents that you didn’t know were there – fabulous goal)

(3.) Have you ever interrupted your usual thoughts by becoming more aware of what’s really going on around you? (when you interrupt usual thoughts, you allow spontaneous insights to come to you; insights about your creative side – fabulous goal)

(4.) Have you ever quieted your mind, and sought to see things differently? (when you seek to see things differently, the first thing you see differently is YOU.  You discover more about your true nature: you are marvelously made and destined to win at whatever you set your mind tofabulous goal)

Self-discovery is a full time job.  You can practice it a home, in the office, while in the car, and at the bowling alley.  Be wholeheartedly receptive to discovering more about yourself, and you will be the richest man (woman) in the world.  It’s all pure gold!

If you catch yourself pursuing a false goal, stop and ask for more light.  More light will show you the foolishness of your goal.  Now you can get back to what’s truly important, and use the light for self-discovery.  That’s what life is really all about.

Read this again.

Connect it with your life.

Think deeply about what it means to you.

Please share your thoughts, and perhaps a personal story?

Thank you, and blessings,  rob

Love is a Spontaneous Reaction

How can you initiate LOVE?
How can you stop LOVE?
How can you control LOVE?

LOVE cannot be controlled.
You cannot do anything about LOVE.
You have to allow LOVE to happen when it happens.
LOVE is a spontaneous reaction.

Although, there is a way to be absent of love; be your unnatural self – your ego-self. The ego-self thinks it falls in LOVE. There is nothing to fall into; LOVE is in the air, everywhere.

Human beings destroy the naturalness of LOVE when we turn it into an efficient technology. When we turn LOVE into a technology, we come up with a 1,001 methods to gain LOVE … and loose so much of life’s wonderful pleasures.

Human beings are obsessed with doing things. We get caught up in doingness. A big problem arises when it comes to LOVE, and what should I do to get love? The problem is that LOVE cannot be done, any more than HAPPINESS can be done. When we believe LOVE and HAPPINESS can be done, we become incapable of enjoying LOVE and HAPPINESS because we don’t know what to do.

Human beings are driven to possess things, but don’t want to be possessed. We want to master everything, but not be mastered by anything. Another big problem arises when we want to possess LOVE. You cannot possess LOVE, and you cannot master LOVE. To the contrary, you must allow LOVE to possess you and then you have mastered the art of enjoying it.

LOVE is life. LOVE is greater than man’s technology. With LOVE, you cannot be in control. Now comes in the ego. The ego is afraid of anything it cannot control. The ego is afraid of LOVE. It pretends that it loves LOVE, but it really wants to control and possess LOVE. Little wonder so many folks find LOVE an elusive dimension of life.

Possessiveness and the attitude of possessiveness guarantee the absence of LOVE. Do you know how you guarantee the presence of LOVE? Do you know what happens when you SURRENDER? (that’s a dirty word to the ego). When you surrender, you allow that to which you’re surrendering, to possess you. Imagine surrendering to LOVE. Imagine allowing LOVE to possess you. Now you move with a greater force than what your ego can ever offer you. The secret to the dimension of LOVE – is surrender.

Who causes the misery that you experience in your life?
Is LOVE causing it … or … lack of LOVE?
If it’s the lack of LOVE, then it’s the ego (that wants to possess and master everything) that’s causing it.

Once you know the secret to LOVE (the secret is surrender), you can have all the LOVE and HAPPINESS you want without doing anything.

This blog is a bit different for me. I was motivated to write it because of a conversation I had with a friend that asked me to explain my ‘take’ on love. I decided to share with you what I shared with her.

The moral of this story is simple: when it comes to the flowing river of LOVE, do not struggle to swim; simply let go and float down the river. The advanced technology of a speedboat will not get you there.

The one way to invite real LOVE into your life is to stop inviting the artificial love of the ego. In the dimension of LOVE, egotism is an enemy who pretends to be a friend.

What can you share that brings this conversation to life in your life?
What can you add that helps others understand the underlying message?

LOVE and HAPPINESS … and … BLESSINGS … and … THANK YOU (for participating with a response to this blog), rob

An Old Story

Did you ever hear the story of the two beggars, living in a small village in India; one blind and the other without legs? You’d think they would have had compassion for one another, but because they begged on the same streets, they were competitors, and didn’t like each other.

One day, the small village caught on fire and everyone was scrambling for their lives. During this time of emergency, the blind beggar said to the legless beggar, “this is no time to quarrel. The only way for us to escape, is for me to carry you on my shoulders; I will be your legs. All that I ask in return is that you be my eyes. This is the only way out for us.”

The beggar without legs was not without a brain; he was not a fool; he could see the truth in the blind beggar’s opinion. Quick action was needed, and so he quickly agreed. Both beggars dropped their resentful attitudes toward one another; they joined forces and escaped the burning village, unharmed.

What’s this story got to do with you?

EVERYTHING!
It has to do with your intellect and your attitude.

Your intellect is a fabulous gift, but alone – it has no legs. YES, it can see what needs to be done, and it can even create a great plan of action … but without an optimistic attitude it lacks legs to move you forward.

So many intellectuals spend a lifetime spouting off answers, but die having failed at achieving their secret dreams and desires.

Your attitude, if it is an optimistic one, is also a fabulous gift, but alone – it is blind. It can feel inspired, and it even feel confident that it can achieve what you perceive as possible … but without intellect, it is blind; it’s knows not how to even start.

The reason life can be so frustrating is because so many folks fail to align their intellect with an optimistic attitude.

The head-mind says, “YES, I know precisely what needs to be done,”
but doesn’t have the confidence to begin.

The heart-mind says, “YES, I can do it,” but has no clue as to what to do.”

Only when you align your head-mind and heart-mind, can you step out of the burning fire.

What’s your fire?
What is your burning desire?
What stops you from achieving it?
Is it the head or the heart that is blocking you?

This is a powerful metaphor. How does it pertain to you?
Don’t be so foolish as to think it doesn’t; it does. A total transformation of your creative energy is available when you are willing to admit that you have not aligned your head-mind and heart-mind in some area of your life.

Right now, I offer you the whole secret. It is right in front of you. A person with a sense of personal ownership of head and heart lives an incredible life.

(1) In what area of your life have you exhibited personal ownership of head and heart?

(2) In what area of your life have you failed miserably (in what area has your intellect and attitude refused to join hands)?

Student: I feel exuberant when I am playing my guitar.
Teacher: Right there; your head and heart are joined.

Student: When it comes to money matters; I feel drained.
Teacher: Right there; your head and heart are at odds with one another.

In order to make corrections, we must be willing to admit where we feel trapped. Willingness to admit that we’re trapped between a head and heart that are not aligned is the first step to making a necessary correction.

Okay, it’s your turn; don’t be selfish – offer a comment ….
(1) What does this blog offer you as a lesson?
(2) What can you add to this blog to help others learn a deeper lesson?

Thank you for sharing … and blessings from my head and heart to your head and heart, rob

An Invitation to Win

Student: What’s the first thing I have to do before I begin winning at the game of life?
Teacher: Understand that a disturbance to your daily plans of winning is as much a part of winning as your planned action.

Student: What’s that mean?
Teacher: It means that if you divide your journey into two parts – one part called: on target, and the other part called: interruptions -you’re setting yourself up for frustration.

Student: What happens when I set myself up for frustration?
Teacher: You begin having anxious cravings to get back on track.

Student: Isn’t that important to do – get back on track?
Teacher: A sailboat tacking from point A to point B is rarely on track … it’s a zig zag journey. This is the way of reality. Anxious cravings to get back on track are wasted energy; you are on track … it’s a zig zag journey.

What did I personally learn from the above conversation between me as the student and me as the teacher? I learned four things:

(1) I banish the notion of flying straight like an arrow toward the target I seek – it just isn’t going to happen like that.

(2) I resolve to see the journey of life in a new and triumphant way:

             A. I don’t have it all figured out ahead of time.
                              AND
            B. I don’t waste energy with anxious cravings when I feel I’m off track.

(3) I have a cheerful receptivity toward interference – there is a valuable lesson being offered.

(4) I study the lessons the interference is offering – it’s like the wind that guides the sailboat to its destination.

Life always offers an invitation to win. Never accept a gloomy attitude when it feels like you are losing. A right relationship with winning guarantees winning.

People unwisely prefer self-help syrup, which explains why they are not succeeding in life. It takes no courage to cling to syrupy self-help clichés; it takes courage to abandon them for the truth.

The truth is:

(1) Positive thinking alone cannot help you succeed – real thinking can and does help you succeed.

(2) When the mind is truly quiet (not filled with “I can do it … I can do it” chatter), the answers that come are truly accurate.

(3) Profitable efforts come from patient attempts – not from dogged persistence.

(4) Whether you’re aware of it or not, you have a permanent invitation from life, an invitation to win – so be aware of it.

If you were to earnestly endeavor to take on the above truths, what now seems like an insurmountable obstacle to you will one day seem easy.

(1) Please give me some feedback on how this blogs affects your attitude.

(2) What have you personally learned to do that is truly sensible and practical when it comes to succeeding?

Thank you and blessings,  rob
