Let the Lower Call Upon the Higher

July 8th, 2011 by rob white

  1. In a nutshell, you are all of it. I am all of it. There is nothing out there that I am not connected to, and this is also true about you. This is what we discover when we dare to relax and allow ultimate reality (the highest truth), to explain itself. Rely on guidance from the truth to carry you home.

  2.  All minds mingle; that’s what our minds are doing right now as you are reading my blog, or is this your blog? What’s the difference? Ponder this cosmic fact.

To say, “my mind is mine” is not correct. To say, “your mind is yours” is not correct. Our minds are individuated part of Universal Mind, not separate from it.

  3. Your consciousness is part of collective consciousness. My consciousness is part of collective consciousness. Never argue with the truth, but simply walk to it with perfect freedom.

  4. Our bodies feel very separate, and yet they are part of the physical whole, that we call ‘the universe’. Ponder this higher truth; ponder it until all tension falls away. With the absence of all tension, we experience ‘infinite unity’ – the meeting point of all. Dissolving of all comparisons is the healthiest thing anyone can do; without comparisons, notice how much better you do.

  5. Your life is your flowering. My life is my flowering. We live in a beautiful garden called planet earth. When flowering freely, we no longer feel like a weed; our inner nature becomes peaceful; this is the basic nature of the universe.

  6. The nature of peacefulness is the whole answer; the answer that I am seeking; the answer that you are seeking. A sincere wish for inner peace activates higher intelligence that guides us to the perfect life.

I am going to go with this blog for this week; it’s spontaneous. I allowed higher intelligence to guide me (the intelligence that we both share). The cause of every problem is the lack of insights into the above truths. I hope it jogs you to think deeper. Life is solved by reflecting on truths, like the above, without self-reference, which is the ultimate view.

Please share what rings right about this blog for you.

Thank you and blessings, rob

Hi Rob, This is so soooo inspiring. It’s like why do waste so much time feeling anxious and self-conscious when everything is cool right now. Even if I had my dream job now, it’s like I know that wouldn’t solve everything. Though I spend most of my time thinking that is the answer to all my problems. You know “once I do this THEN I’ll be happy…” I have to keep in my mind that even if I achieve all my goals, if I can’t feel peace of mind being 100% ME then none of it is worth it.

    • rob says:

Hi Kara. I love your insightful comments, lately. You have grown leaps and bounds. A right response to a higher truth includes just relaxing and letting it sink in (which is what you do). Thank you.

  2. Steve says:

I’ve been reading your blogs but haven’t commented until now. I don’t like to get involved in the blog world, but as you pointed out here – how can I avoid it if it is part of ‘the whole’ and I am part of ‘the whole’. This blog makes me feel safe in the world. If I am part of it, really part of it, then I should feel very comfortable with all of it. I understand this but don’t actually feel it yet. That’s the journey.

    • rob says:

Hi Steve. Welcome. Nice noticement: we can feel safe in the world when we know that we are an intricate working part of the whole universe! Nothing is tiny. Everything is part of the powerfully huge whole! What will I do with that? What will you do with that? blessings

  3. Howdy Rob,
I love how you always bring it back to the whole – that fact that we’re all connected, that we’re all part of the same collective consciousness. Focusing on that and really stepping into that feeling doesn’t make me feel small. On the contrary, it makes me feel so powerful and important. Little old me is contributing as well as benefiting from this perfect, loving, non-judgmental, co-creative, universal energy. And so is everyone else. How perfect is that?

    Hugs,
    Melody

    • rob says:

Hi Melody. I love the point you make. Feeling like you are part of ‘the whole’ does not make you feel small … it makes you feel powerful! That is the beautiful truth. Well said. There is a part of everyone that understands this, and I hope to help awaken that part in those who read this blog. thank you.

  4. Hi Rob,

I like #5,”Your life is your flowering.” Thanks for reminding me that I am a flower. What I find is so wonderful is now with the internet we are learning to cross borders enjoy and connect with one another with no boundaries parting us.
This is showing us that we are all connected to each other and the universe.

We are like a big oak tree, with branches going every direction and the leaves different shades of green, but we are still connected. By being different, but being connected it makes us strong to with stand the high winds or the light breeze. Some days just the sun shine! Life is beautiful!
    Blessing to you Rob,
    Debbie

    • rob says:

Hi Debbie. You add wonderful value to this blog with your comment. Thank you. Be bold in departing from the familiar and dark part of yourself (which feels separate and alone) … for that leads you to the unfamiliar light (such a blissful feeling of wholeness!) I know both feelings well. blessings, Deb

  5. Lisa H. says:

    Hi Rob,
This really hit home for me. We are all one, born from the same source. We are connected to all that is alive. When we do harm to another, we are also harming ourself. Just to show how connected we are… earlier this week I was thinking about a friend, whose email address I lost a year ago. This morning I checked my blog and there was a comment from her with her email address attached. Isn’t it wonderful the way that the universe works. :-)

    • rob says:

Hi Lisa. There is no separation. All minds mingle. You thought, “I wonder what my friend’s email address is?” You opened to oneness – and bingo! Thank you for that.

  6. “The cause of every problem is the lack of insights into the above truths.”

I’ve been really enjoying these bits for a while now. This quote is a good gem to mull over. It makes me realize that my problems are my own because of my own limitations. Overcoming that can help me overcome any problems in my life.

    • rob says:

Hi David. Our greatest limitation is our feeling of separation. We are never separate from infinite intelligence. If we mingle with this intelligence, problems become stepping stones with lightening fast speed. blessings.

  7. Alan007 says:

I don’t know you kind of lost me on this one. Honestly I come here to try to figure out how to make more money and pick up chicks. I’m just being honest. I don’t how I can use this to reach my goals. Maybe my “lower” thinking is not connecting with the “higher” thinking. I’m just don’t see how understanding this will answer my problems… unless that IS my problem… ay yi yi. Now I’m confused!

    • rob says:

Hi Alan. Your response demonstrates how separate you feel from money and women. What if you were to believe that everything mingles wonderfully if you let it? Then you would find yourself mingling wonderfully with money and women. blessings

  8. Dissolving of all comparisons is the healthiest thing anyone can do.—I think of all you said above Rob, this is the one that I find can be the toughest to achieve. We see the success of others, and we doubt ourselves…we compare…and it always backfires. But it’s also an area where I’m getting better and better, which is what matters most.

Thanks for the great read Rob, I really liked this.

    Marcus

    • rob says:

Hi Marcus. Nice to hear from you. I like your response to ‘dissolving all comparisons’. Courage to face oneself develops swiftly when we stop facing off against everyone else by noticing differences between us. I think you’ll like what I just said. blessings

  9. Carol Anne says:

Ahh this one warms the cockles of my heart Rob. It is so easy to to carried away in the everyday agitations and completely forget about the big picture. None of that stuffs adds up to a hill of beans when we take a minute to examine the infinite extent of all our relations. Somedays I have glimpses of this “higher intelligence”… I just with I could stay there.I don’t want to come back down to planet earth now! :)

    • rob says:

Hi Carol Anne. The mind is made whole by looking at both the worldly and cosmic point of view, although the cosmic is much more exciting. I can see why you don’t want to come back down to planet earth. blessings

  10. Kenya says:

I agree with Carol…it is very easy and comfortable to just stay there and not come back to the physical earth. I do create a balance, but the universal connection and flow are wonderful in really get to know the TRUE YOU….

    Thanks Rob!

    • rob says:

Hi Kenya. Indeed,Kenya, higher truths have the ability to dissolve mental fog – making our true raison d’etre clear to us (to live in unity with all of it). And, then we must descend back to planet earth, where we experience the separateness that polarity offers. What a wonderful game we play. blessings

  11. SaltySailorMan says:

Hi Rob, I like to think of it as being a wave on the ocean. A wave is definitely separate and unique but part of the whole. And when the wave crashes it folds right back into to the ocean again. I am reminded that I shouldn’t take life so seriously. We will all travel far and wide and crash on some foreign shore – and in the end none of it matters because we will go back to from where we came. So… “haul on the bowline’ and sing a melody, like all good sailors do when they’re far away at sea.”

    • rob says:

Hi Salty. the ‘wave of the ocean’ metaphor is used by many great thinkers. I am not surprised that you picked up on that one. There are truly wondrous ways to travel on the waves of life, Salty, and you are always exploring new waves and new ways. blessings

  12. Hi Rob,
Great post and something that all of us need to know. Grasping this concept will help us to realize that what we do for others we do for ourselves. It takes selfishness and greed out of the picture.

I believe that mankind is heading this way. Us as being connected instead of me being separated.

    • rob says:

Yes Justin, we can do good for ourselves only when we know goodness, and to know goodness is to share it with others. Thank you for that reminder. blessings

  13. Hi Rob,
You have included so many great insights here. I agree with all of them – of course. I do love the last one best though.

If we sincerely desire inner peace and do what ever is necessary to find that peace through inner reflection and meditation, by forgiving ourselves and others for past mistakes, by becoming grateful for who we are, the people who care for us and what we have – we will find out that we are living a truly blessed and joyous life – already.

    • rob says:

Hi Angela. I like what you shared with your comment. Your aim in this lifetime is to shake off your unconscious psychic tension (what a great job you are doing). Thank you for sharing. blessings

  14. Lindsay says:

This is wonderful. Thank you for putting into words what I’ve been feeling but have some difficulty expressing. Like Justin (above) I believe we are all heading towards realizing we are part of a Universal connectedness.

    • rob says:

Hi Lindsay. The dull ache you sometimes feel is ‘the false feeling of being separate’. I know you have felt it because we all do. When we accept union without reservation – the ache disappears forever. What a blessing … and blessings to you.

  15. Sibyl says:

Wow. Really great article Rob. I loved how you just explained so many truths here. I thought the post was so powerful and I totally agree with you that every problem results from not understanding these truths you shared. Really great one … as always, filled with so much wisdom :) Thanks for the wisdom this morning.

    • rob says:

Hi Sibyl. Would you sacrifice a piece of coal for a diamond. If you would, then sacrifice your false beliefs for the truth (which is what you are now doing). It’s apparent in your comment. Thank you for your contribution to humanity. blessings

  16. Rus says:

Right on brother man! One love, baby. That’s all my man Bob Marley was talking about. In my life, I don’t care what happens. As long as live by these principals I will die fulfilled. If we dedicate our lives to just “flowering” to be the greatest garden we can be we just can’t lose. I love how you put that. I want to frolic in this garden called planet earth – that’s all I’m asking – I’m a simple kind of man that wants to love and understand.

    • rob says:

Hi Rus. YES, ‘one love’ … that’s it. Start each day by reminding yourself of the ultimate aim: ‘one love’. What would your life be like next year? Blessings

  17. Roger Pascal says:

This is heavy duty stuff Rob. I am not sure how to even respond to this because it’s still way over my head. When I feel most peaceful is when I look at my family and say “Roger my boy, you done darn good!” I think that is because that is when I stop thinking of myself so much and feel part of that whole universe thing. Am I getting this right?

    • rob says:

Hi Roger. When you look out at the world and don’t think of yourself as separate from it – you’re doing reeaal gooood. Nice job. thank you

  18. John Sherry says:

Rob, you’ve stirred the stilled waters within with this post. We are all part of each other; one big mind and spirit and energy and loving possibility. When one hurts we all do and when we feel the love it spreads like a wildfire of wonderous joy. And when we know we are, and cannot be, alone, then we are complete. You are and me and I am you and everyone is united. Together we are one! Love the sense and beauty of that truth which this massive message that is the Internet proves every single day. Be well loved brother.

    • rob says:

Hi John. you respoke the first point wonderfully, John. Catch yourself wondering back to the feeling of separateness, and leap back to the highest truth (the truth of ONENESS). A real feeling of security overcomes us when we do this. blessings

  19. Jk Allen says:

    Hello Rob,

This was as fabulous post. You mentioned that ultimate reality is the highest truth. Never thought about it that way. That idea immediately allows me to see the “reality” that I have some blockage in seeing the highest truth (ultimate reality). Instead of relying the on the highest truth, I’ve relied on myself far more than I should. Why in the world do I continue to do this when the infinite is within me.

The power behind mingling of minds has become more and more present in my life. As you know my first introduction to this was from your webinar series – which was a great experience for me in learning that this phenomenon even existed and how to withdraw the power from it. Since that series, I’ve paid much more attention to my connectedness (or non-connectedness) with others.

The one the touched me the most, Rob, was “Our bodies feel very separate, and yet they are part of the physical whole, that we call ‘the universe’.”
I’ve heard this spoken before. Not in the same context, but the same idea: “together we all make one”. I always had a hard time understanding that. The context that we see things makes this type of statement seen lofty or hard to understand. But the way you put it, along with the other 5 points in this post makes it all make sense.

I have a problem with comparing myself to others. Even when I do so under the light of simple assessment…what happens is that my ego will take it to a point of “I’m better than them, or they are better than me”. It’s really an unhealthy game that I play with myself. While this is still something present in my life – it’s something that I’ve become aware of as I’ve become more aware of my ego since getting to know you. Now when I do it…or after I do it and I realize what I’ve done and it puts a knot in my stomach. I can only imagine that this happens because doing so creates more and more tension. This is an area I really need to work on. I need to work on all 6 points – but this one most immediately.

Thanks for this valuable lesson Rob. This is another that will stick with me for years ahead. I didn’t mention all six points here – but trust me, they were received with equal merit…and I know I have work to do.
    Blessings!

    • rob says:

You are such a wonderful student of life, Jk. Everyone can learn how to be a great student from you (if they choose to). Solutions are only secrets as long as we buy into dreams of reality (instead of accepting the ultimate truth). The sooner we stop playing games with the truth, the sooner we have what we need to create the future we dream of experiencing. You are sick and tired of playing games with the truth, Jk. You reveal this with every comment you make. Thank you.

  20. Belinda says:

Hi Rob! Haven’t been around these parts in a while but I really enjoyed this post. As always, I feel a little bit expanded (in a good way!) after reading one of your posts. I agree with everything you highlighted; it’s mind-blowing how interconnected we are, how each life is a manifestation of our individual choices and freedom and how togehter, we all make up a beautiful symphony.

    • rob says:

Hi Belinda. YES, we are all notes of a beautiful symphony. Let it be a sweet note that plays in harmony with the UNI-verse (the ONE VERSE that we call ‘the universe’). Welcome back. blessings

  21. Frank says:

    Rob,

The more I try to seperate myself the more I am engrossed in the universe. That is a very humbling fact. The faster I can learn that we are all connected in a great truth the more value I can add to my existence. That is some powerful stuff Rob. Thanks.

    • rob says:

Hi Frank. New safety and success comes the moment you suspect that your false feelings of separateness are worse than you think (me too). Rushing emotions of fear comes with thoughts of being separate. Trace the feeling to its origin, and there you will find a big fat lie. blessings.

  22. Angry Ramone says:

Ya know rob, I used to come here and these types of articles would just make me mad. I really had no idea what the hell you were talking about. It was literally like trying to read another language. I thought you were arrogant and I was dumb. I’m still kind of dumb but this makes a lot more sense to me now. I think I’m learning that life just doesn’t have to be hard work and struggle. Why am I working so hard to stay angry. My best days now are when I can stop resisting everything around me and let things happen. I guess what I’m trying to say is that all that Authentic-Self talk is real… to me thats the connection with being part of the “collective consciousness” and feeling that freedom (just a little bit for me from time to time BUT thats wayyy better than a year ago!)

    • rob says:

Hi Ramone. The only reason you are ever angry is because you do not feel like you are ‘part of all of it’, and it bothers you. The plain fact is that you need not tolerate believing that you are separate any more. Thank you for your input. blessings

  23. GeorgieBoy 1969 says:

Hi Rob, It’s taken me a lifetime to come to terms with this kind of spiritual thinking. I wish I didn’t spend a life time resisting it. It wasn’t until I realized that none of life’s work really meant anything until I found inner peace. Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of my work as a lawyer. It helped a lot of people. The problem is it didn’t help me. I was too worked up about achieving the end game to really take the time see what it meant in my life. Somehow I thought being overworked and under-joyed was necessary to achieve justice. It was an injustice to my inner peace though justice was served to my clients. Nowadays I put my joy first – I’m seeing this is not as selfish but actually better for everyone – that has been a sea change in my thinking.

  24. rob says:

Hi Georgie. Put joy first. Absolutely! Put ONENESS first and joy is what you get. It is not risky at all to risk the dislike of someone because you are putting joy over pleasing them. Joy always wins in the end. blessings

  25. Chris Barba says:

I need to re-read this one. I think getting caught up in what needs to happen in my life and following scripted norms of what should happen is really impeding growth of flowering freely.

So many people give tremendous insight on walking your own path in life, but I think the real insight comes from the reason why. We don’t grow grow freely because other people say that is that pathway to happiness, we grow freely because that is our genuine source of joy.

    • rob says:

Hi Chris. YES, there is no greater source of joy than growing freely. Follow the higher law within, which always knows what is right, and it leads you to a beautiful new world. Thank you for being part of the team. blessings

  26. Tinu says:

    Hi Rob,
Law of Attraction of Homogenous Species (connection) reign here for me Rob, we are all striving(knowingly/unknowingly) for unison because we are all part of a whole.
All my encounters in life, be it a person (hubby, friend, stranger, neighbor, colleague, blogger. . .) or experience(s) I feel a purpose, a reason, it never deters me however aloof the person is or however the experience’s are, challenging some may be but I almost rejoice in them, for what I give and what I receive. But I’m best at mulling over them when it challenges me otherwise, although in the end, it all makes sense.
The mulling over is what I need to keep to a minimum and let the experience be just that and left alone.
I provided a medium for my daughter to come into this world, though shortly lived, I’m glad she chose me, and the experience it left me, though emotionally sore, ‘the plaster is about to come off soon to become just a scar’, but it has strengthen me, to heights I never thought I had.
I didn’t stumble on to your blog/posts by chance; I wanted this so you wrote and so on.
The thing is I feel (spiritually) as though everything makes sense, but yet the connection with reality sometimes seems detached from me, perhaps I try too hard and expect it to be something else, hmm!

I’m new at posting my thoughts and so on, I write as I feel but never comes out as I want sometimes, this has taken me days of deliberation, writing and deleting but today I have just poured out.

Thank you Rob as you have just opened up something new about me, I didn’t know.
    Wish you continued strength

    • rob says:

Hi Tinu. I really like the right self-encouragement that you offer, Tinu. What you do for you, you do for others (what’s the difference – there’s only one of us on the planet anyways). You take a truly brave look at yourself, with confidence toward inner growth and success. What if everyone (even Me) did that all of yhe time? WOW. In your diligent search for the ultimate truth, you will meet teachers who will not deceive you. I hope I qualify to be one of them (we are all teachers – are we not?). I learn a lot from you. You do not get caught in society’s syrup – you say it as it is for you, Tinu. thank you

    • rob says:

Hi again, Tinu. Might I add one more thing? I spell my name with a little ‘r’ (rob) … not a capital ‘R” (Rob) to remind me that my ego would love to make me feel superior and special … and I don’t want any part of it. I used to play that game. How foolish of me. Wrong conditions are corrected by taking right action to correct them … little ‘r’ is the right action for me; it keeps me humble, the way I want to be. blessings

  27. John says:

I like what you say about our bodies being separate but part of the whole… because sometimes I’m performing on stage and the whole stage and everything just disapears. Does that make sense? It’s hard to explain – I guess it’s kind of like just melting into the universe. I don’t think about my performance or the audience but it’s just like floating in the vast void of the universe where there is nothing to be done – it’s great.

    • rob says:

Nic touch, John. You are poetic today (also esoteric). I enjoy it. Realizing that ‘feeling separate from your audience’ is an illusion – never the real ultimate condition – is a breakthrough. You will become famous! blessings

  28. Alicia says:

Hi Rob, this one has my name written all over it! It’s so true, I think all the world problems occur because people just don’t see that we are part of one stupendous whole. All the suffering and war is caused by people who simply feel separate and alienated from others. It’s always an “us versus them” mentality. In the context of this blog such an idea cannot even exist! There is no “Us” or “them” when we look at the ultimate reality… yet so many people have absolutely NO IDEA this concept even exists. It makes me shudder to think of it. Thanks for doing the work to spread the most important message there ever could be.

    • rob says:

Hi Alicia. That’s a warm feeling of gratitude you offer me. thank you. When knowing what is right for our lives (working toward ONENESS), we find false concerns (like being right or looking good) just fade away. Taking a right internal direction always places us on the right highway in life (higher way). blessings.

  29. Evelyn Lim says:

I thought I’ve just landed on Eckhart Tolle’s or Neale Donald Walsch’s blog LOL! Love your insights. It’s great to know that we are all part of the same consciousness. I’m working on dissolving illusions spin by my ego. If more of us can just be conscious to the insights that you have published, conflicts will reduce and there will be more peace and togetherness.

    • rob says:

Hi Evelyn. Back in the time when I thought I couldn’t take it any more (life was too tough for me), fortunately, I learned to turn to higher truths that could take anything. When we learn how to help ourselves by living from reality, we help the entire community in which we live, because we learn to love our neighbors as ourselves. Why? There’s no separation. Thank you for mentioning Eckhart; yes, he is one person who absolutely gets it. blessings

  30. Magic Marc says:

Yo What up ROBBYBOY. Man, sometimes you are WAYYY out there! Your a crazy mo-fo… AND I LIKE IT!!! HAHAHAH. People just got to get crazy to make it in this world. If we arent living out there on the edge we are hiding in our parents basements (like A LOT of my stupido friends!). I feel ya on this one son. It’s all about being in flow. Sometimes I have days where everything just comes out MAGIC. It’s like I’m not even trying but MAD opportunities just keep popping up. All it is being part of that flow of the universe. I don’t know how to say it but life just gets easy easy easy ease! People just have to learn to stop HATING and start getting right with EVERYTHING. and I mean EVERYTHING. I like gays, blacks and spanish people as much as anyone… people might not guess that about me BUT I am mad cool with EVERYTHING. That is the secret to my MAGIC TOUCH = JUST BE COOL and GET IN FLOW!!!!! HOLLA

    • rob says:

Hi Magic. You are MAD COOL about everything. Anyone who is MAD COOL has given himself over to higher guidance, and is going to see the ultimate truth. Will you see it and accept it? blessings

  31. J.D. Meier says:

    > We live in a beautiful garden called planet earth.
I’m a fan of the garden metaphor. One of my mentors uses it a lot … he uses it to paint a picture of how things could be when they are fully blooming on a Summer’s day.

    • rob says:

Hi J.D. We contact the truth at the risk of losing our familiar and beloved illusions; your mentors help you with this, as you help others with it. All of it is a matter of flow, like the sun of midday, the shade of evening, and the rain that refreshes the summer garden. Look closer and there are no distinctions. your willingness to learn is taking you far – that’s a gift. blessings

  32. Richard Roma says:

I don’t know Rob. This one has me a bit perplexed. I have a lot of problems with people who think they can just think positive and they will be happy etc. etc. Do you like Seinfeld? It’s like that episode where George keeps chanting “serenity now…” to calm down. It works for a little while but then he has a breakdown in the end. I think I would be in denial if I were to just say wow I’m inspired and “get it” now. Maybe some people can make heads and tails of it but I’m a guy who is driven for success and just don’t think you get there by understanding this stuff.

    • rob says:

Hi Richard. I love your honesty; your integrity to exploring more. These teachings offer astounding breakthroughs to anyone who is tired of being who he is right now (breakthroughs in relationships, which include business relationships). We’re all tired of being less than all that we can be (even me); it’s what has you come back weekly to read the blogs; it’s what has me write a blog a week.
