This blog is inspired by JK, a student of life who is willing to give up something (his past) in order to gain something of a higher nature (his unlimited potential).
Nietzsche was a German philosopher considered by many to be one of the most brilliant-minded thinkers in the 19th century. He said, “If a tree wants to reach to the sky, its roots need to reach to the very hell.”
I say, “if you want to reach to your highest potential, you must be willing to explore your deepest darkest NO’s!”
I also say, “It’s when a sinner becomes a saint, that the saint has real character and beauty.”
A person born with saintly virtues, who has never been exposed to temptations of sin … perhaps can be defined as a saint … but he’s not had to prove it. Being nice when naughty isn’t an option- even a simpleton can do it. Ponder this!!! He has missed the complex harmony of life.
Do not deny your terrible childhood NO’s – they are the fabric of your magnificent breakthroughs. How can your talents and potential come out on display, if there has never been a wandering away? It’s going astray that motivates breakthroughs to relevant activity.
Do you remember the story of the two sons who inherited a small fortune? One son went off and squandered it. The other stayed home with his father and made an even a greater fortune. When the son who went astray, returned – the father had a big celebration. The son who’d stayed and tripled his money, felt slighted. The father explained – “The celebration is for your brother because he had gone astray, like a lost sheep. Now he has returned. This is a celebration of transformation! This celebration does not demean you or your virtues in any way, my wonderful son.”
It is time for you to celebrate returning from a life of NO and WOE to a life of WOW! It is time for you to transform your miss-takes into successful re-takes.
Don’t be a NO-it-all; don’t say NO to the good that awaits you. See the beauty in the complex harmony of your contrasting experiences of WOW and WOE.
Downwardly spiraling curves and corners of NO and WOE give spice to your life. How boring would life be if everything’s an immediate heavenly WOW?
From the eyes of the infinite – everything is beautiful – even the sins. That means – everything is beautiful about you – even your NO’s, even your WOE’s.
The greatest courage in the world is to look directly at what is ‘wrong with you’ with an intention of righting it – no excuses, no harsh judgment, no blame, no shame. When your intention is right, the beautiful YOU that now appears unreal and uncomfortable will become solid and reliable. Trust in that! Through experiencing WOEsomeness one finds opportunities to transcend to WOWsomeness.
When in hell – seek to create heaven – it offers you an exquisite opportunity to experience yourself as the supreme being you are in your world.
Strive to be your magnificent self – this is the only thing you can ever achieve with perfection! With this intention, the destructive forces of NO and WOE (running rampart in the subconscious), can be overcome.
Blessings

Hey Rob, this is my first time over to your website. a friend recommended that I take a look. This stuff is confusing. My friend heard you speak and said you were dynamic. I’d love to catch you speak about this stuff, live. I’ve got to water this information down to grasp it. Yet, it excites me because I can sense there’s something in it for me.
There is something in these blogs for you, Steve. Save energy (when reading my blogs), by rejecting negative thought-voices that tell you to turn from the truth the blogs offer. blessings
Yeah man… I declare myself a sinner, I say it loud and say it proud! Ahh that feels good! It’s true I definitely would not be the beautiful ME with out all my transgressions along the way. Everybody’s journey is so unique to that individual that there is never a “right” way to do anything. The world has to take me with all my good and bad — no apologies here! that what makes me MAGNIFICENT. Great stuff my man… and shout out to JK A (I’m a secret admirer of your blog… keep hustlin’!)
I love your style with this response, Rus. Self-responsibility for the good and the bad that we find within us – supplies healing power! blessings
Thank you Russ – I appreciate it sir!
Rob, I must say, JK Allen is everywhere these days. Great guy who has taken what hand he was dealt (his past) and playing the heck out of it, driven by family and the desire to reach out and touch someone. It’s pretty incredible. I love your post here, man. We have to embrace the dark truths with everything else. It helps us to create the best out of it. I would not be where I am today if it were not for the deep dark failures I experienced earlier on. Those taught me something. They taught me the value of persistence.
At the time of your second birth, Bryan, which is coming soon (assuming you persist in the direction that you are moving), you will be thoroughly and utterly ready to demonstrate your incredible spontaneity. And then, you blend with the infinite riches that life offers you – right here – in this realm of immutable polarity. Chunk this down and absorb it bit by bit, Bryan.
That was such a nice read Job, i gotta thank JK too for being the source of inspiration, keep it up you guys:)
As you continue to hunger and thirst for ‘nice reads’, farouk, trusting your future will unfold to demonstrate them – suddenly you will realize that your thirst is being quenched! blessings
Being authentic and true to ourselves is beautiful – and so are the souls of each one of us.
Alex
As you give and give and give your praise to those living in this world, Alex, you shall receive more and more blessings in return. That’s how life works when it’s working – and life is always working. blessings
Couldn’t agree with you more.
Really liked the post, esp: “It is time for you to celebrate returning from a life of NO and WOE to a life of WOW! It is time for you to transform your miss-takes into successful re-takes.” Thank you, Rob.
If we turn WOW upside down, there’s an OM (special gift, blessing) waiting for us.
Inspiration, celebration and random acts of kindness can sprout from anywhere, gifting us with a precious transformational nugget (yes – let’s all go for the GOLD!).
Thank you both!
I like your comment, Lil. You are demonstrating how you are controlling your mind and keeping ‘tramp-thoughts’ out (a Napoleon Hill label). Keep it up and the essential nucleus of your being (your superlatively creative nature) has something wonderful in store for you. Really! blessings
Hello Rob,
It’s a privilege to read your blog and to respond. This post strikes a chord deep within me; especially at this particular point in time. Unbelievable the words, “When in hell – seek to create heaven …” WOW! I’m so with you on this and it has taken me 43 years to figure this out. As difficult as the last 2 years have been (unlike any previous years), there is profound beauty in them as I reflect. As much as I felt (and at times still feel) that this is my own personal hell – I see the glory. I’m amazed at the handiwork and how things are coming into play. And … one of my favorite analogies in life is how steel is made – the hotter the fire the stronger the steel. This is what I get from your post!
Thank you for these words … I’m very grateful. You warm my heart and put a smile on my face, as I know I’m on the right track.
Peace & blessings to you! I look forward to visiting again!
Much kindness,
Elena
The past two years have been testing your spirit, Elena. The energy of your infinite uniqueness is ‘the bread’ that has fed and sustained you and helped you through to the other side. You are now ready to do the work to create the beautiful world you dream of experiencing. Aren’t you! blessings
So eloquently put – thank you! Indeed I am Rob, indeed I am!
Hello Rob,
What a surprise it was to come here and find that I was part of the inspiration to this post. I’m delighted/honored and of course actively trying to give up the past in order to gain something of a higher nature in the future.
-
The most interesting part of this process for me Rob is that as soon as I think I have it figured out, I realize that I don’t. It keeps it interesting and it’s surely challenging – but I’m trying my best to keep my mind focussed in the right direction.
-
This writing has opened me up to another link of knowledge that I’ve been seeking. (I’ve been seeking, but really unaware of exactly what I need to find…but I am aware of the results that I’m after *I think*).
-
The story of the Prodigal Son makes so much sense here Rob. And your quote of the saint makes a lot of sense too. “Being nice when naughty isn’t an option – even a simpleton can do it”. From that I take that overcoming our past is the real test.
-
Since I GOING to reach to my highest potential, I AM WILLING to explore my deepest-darkest NO’s. I understand it’s a prerequisite.
I realize that all comes with a costs – and that exploration will cost me discomfort at times – but on the other side lays the results that I’m after.
-
Again, Rob, it’s an honor to be the inspiration behind this post. But even more importantly for me, was the information that I learned from it. I owe you a thousand “thank yous”!
Also, thanks for seeing my comment as last week’s best!
Blessings!
You carry around much more guilt that you realize Jk. When you embrace the faults of your past; when you see them as part of the exquisite fabric of your life, you will make breakthroughs in leaps and bounds. YES, overcoming our past is the real test. A simpleton is someone who has no experiences. A month old baby is ‘an angel’, but also a simpleton …i t has had no opportunities to be a devil. Those times will come – we call them the ‘terrible two’s’. An impoverished man is caught in the negativity of his past … and while caught, he has to feel discouraged (there is no other option). A enriched man is not caught in the NO’s of his past. He has the option to feel discouraged (by looking back), but he sees no sane reason to do that! blessings
This is perfect for me today Rob. Thank you thank you!!
I’ve been going through a dark period myself. A bad roommate situation certainly can feel like “hell” (don’t ask. no more drama!
). Sometimes I like these challenges because it is a real test to ask myself if I mean it… And I like coming out on top. I think we really see our Authentic Self when we are tested. I’m not interested in the “woe is me” road!
YES, Kara, it seems we become aware of the Authentic-Self when we are tested – the stars shine brightest when it is dark outside. blessings
Wow Rob, this article is like big weight off my shoulders. Really! I’ve spent so much time going down the wrong roads that there are times I’ve thought “whats the point?” Just to know that it is OK to mess up – and I’m not alone – is huge. That’s all I’ve got to say about that!
Indeed, you are not alone, Roger. The process of receiving an increased supply of your creative genius requires OOPSING your way forward. There’d be no motivation without failure. blessings
Great post Rob. Very inspiring. I can see why JK would be able to provide some great inspiration. I love the advice you gave to work to be your magnificent self. If we can just master that, we will be amazed at how everything in our life will begin to come together.
Sibyl, what I hear you saying in this, “All the while that I am trying, I am standing at the door, knock, knock, knocking. My Authentic-Self will give me the answers I seek if only I will let it in. Why am I knocking at the door? I should be opening the door.” Do you understand this? blessings
Yes. That is exactly what I am saying and I appreciate that piece of advice for you. Sometimes it can be a little scary to open the door, but as soon as you find the courage and do so, you are never disappointed and your character is strengthened.
Hi Rob, I love this part, “How boring would life be if everything’s an immediate heavenly WOW?” How true. I now look back fondly on all my biggest challenges and struggles. It gives me solace to know that even the challenges I am facing now will some day be in the review mirror and I will be a stronger person. (the hard part is reminding myself this when I am at the lowest lows, ugh!). I think the beauty of life is the ying and yang of heaven and hell. Nobody gets out of life without having their fair share.
The reservoir of your heart is converted into a flowing stream of beauty, Carol Anne, when you truly grasp the perfection of Yin and Yang. blessings
Hi Rob,
I believe your are right. We need to let our light shine as brightly as possible. When we allow our magnificence to shine we can and will accomplish anything!
Your true self, Angela, is no more than an infinite supply of pulsating creative energy – waiting to be directed. What more could anyone want to know? blessings
If every sin is beautiful I am looking like Miss America after this weekend! This is great to read because I think I had some setbacks and got wrapped up in some old patterns again. It’s like I’m good, good, good then I get kind of bored and am on the Highway to Hell again. I kind of feel like I spend all week running up the hill to heaven and the weekend plunging back into hell. I want to break that pattern – its getting to be tiring. I guess I need to forgive myself, right? But if I forgive myself I just do it all over again because I say oh well nobodys perfect. It’s kind of a yo-yo.
Yourself is inspiration, yourself is illumination, Alan. As you accept this truth, you see the splendor in sin. This does not mean that you add more sinful ways to your character. It means you appreciate the longings and cravings that led you astray – appreciate them for the lessons they offer. I like your humor. blessings
Ohhh… exploring my deepest darkest NO’s… I don’t know if I like that! Just the fact that I’m scared to take a look scares me… does that make sense? I often feel like I’m wrestling with myself but I can’t really see what I’m wrestling with. That must be the NO’s. I like thinking that If I can define exactly what I’m wrestling with I can overcome it. I can’t quite see it now but I’m sure it’s there somewhere or else I would be where I want to be.
Supreme, unconditioned, peerless is the authentic John. Any wrestling with ‘self’ is due to self-delusion. Ponder that, my friend. blessings
I love it when you make me think Rob. When losing becomes winning. When we lose we have two choices, we can sit there and feel sorry for ourselves or we can let the loss make us stronger. I take the later of the two.
If we look back in history it is the people that went through hard times that make the most out of life. You don’t learn who or what you are if life is a steady stream. It is those under currents that really definds us.
I was raised with a father that was a weekend alcholic and had 6 siblings. They don’t have much to do with me, because I have examined who I am and why. They just stay stuck in the water going which every direction it takes them. Me I swam up stream and very happy I have.
You my friend have a wonderful day and blessing to you. Losing does make you strong… and you become the winner… Debbie
Thank you for your honesty, Debbie. You are going somewhere. Your true identity, which is self-complete, self-effulgent, self-contained will see to that … and you are seeing to it that it is able to see to that. The giver of all good is found right inside of you – and I am sensing its presence. Thank you!!!
Hi Rob,
As always very powerful post! We have got to explore our childhood’s NOs, so we can learn to overcome them. It all begins with awareness. Once we are aware of the NOs that we have inherited from others, we can begin to treat them as separate from us as we all are way better than those NOs we have inherited in the past. Thanks for sharing Rob
Only to the extent that one accepts the presence of NO’s can one abolish them, Dia. You are accepting this truth. Acceptance will lift you out of dark places in your consciousness and carry you to new heights of achievement in the world. It has to. It is the law of growth and development. blessings
I like your conversation with Sibyl. I can knock, knock knock all day – for me its more like BANG BANG BANGING my head. The problem is I’m pushing against that door when I should be pulling. Story of my life, actually. It’s almost like we have to work harder at being inauthentic (if that’s the right word) than we do at being authentic. I kind of see that I put a ton of time and energy into building a persona AND now I have to keep it up. Maybe being Authentic is about relaxing?
It is I (yourself) that is always relaxed, Ramone. It is the artificial self that is uptight. Continue to work with the I (your authentic self), and you will find the source of your naturally loose and easy way. Thank you for sharing your challenge with us. blessings
An old friend of mine used to say “I don’t trust a man who doesn’t drink and I don’t trust myself when I’m drinking.” It’s meant tongue in cheek – meaning that we all have hang-ups and sins – it’s what makes us all part of the whole of humanity. How can we relate to each other deeply if we are not sharing, truthful, honest and compassionate about our suffering? Our experience of the highs and lows of life is what makes us truly unique in the world.
YES,Salty, we all have hangups and sin. “Don’t live in the wrong space” (a statement of the 60′s), meant ‘don’t live in the space of the mind when it hangs you up with NO NO NO’. Mind is only a part of the experience of ‘all of it’.
blessings
Rob,
Very interesting post! There is saying that my mom said that “Lotus can only grow in mud”. Lotus is beautiful flower in mud, I can see the connection. Wisdom in your posts are always worth coming back for!
Preeti
Whenever something comes from the mud, it’s possibilities are infinite (like the Lotus flower). Look at your mud lovingly and caringly (through the eyes of the heart), Preeti, and there is a lotus of paradise to be found. blessings
Rob,
First time here… and I’ll say one thing: Jk is the man.
I’ll be back for sure. Enjoyed reading your thoughts!
Dustin
Here is a thought (a question), especially for you to ponder, dustin: How can you truly know who you are? Here is another thought (an answer) equally worthy of your pondering: You can only know who you truly are when you have the courage to look at who you are not. blessings.
A clarion call to our greatest capabilities Rob, you’re a soldier of inner fortune which is reflected in your posts! I think we get dragged down and back by early life or regular setbacks and set aside aspiring to activate our very best happy instead to offer our average and ‘normal’ playing small and playing the victim. But true world warriors are those who smash circumstances and crush unconfidence to become a master of their own universe through self-enquiry. No matter what obstacles they find they continue on beyond the false holograms the mind can conjour up until they unfold their gold making their life a story to be told. Your posts encourage me to be a legend to my soul and to all I’m meant to bring to life. If I turn out JK like too then I’ll be one happy guy.
Wow, this comment is very Lee Tien Ming in content. Nice Job! What makes self-transcendence possible for John sherry? When he stops passing off faulty words as quality conversation. (this is a challenge for anyone to undertake – few succeed). You have succeeded here! You are being rewarded by heaven for your hard work. I acknowledge you.
Hi Rob, I wish I had read this about 30 years ago. I caused myself a harder road in life than I needed to. One of the biggest things I’m learning these days is how to forgive myself and realize I’ve done a pretty darn good job. I still have a tendency to be too rigid and push myself and others too hard. I think that comes from not really taking a look at the NO’s that are still sticking around after all these years. Alas, I’m learning, I’m learning.
In the seed of a watermelon, a divine pattern is held, Georgie. You know the results, Georgie. In the seed of your creative essence, a divine pattern is held. Unlike the watermelon, you must rid your mind of past failures to allow that pattern to flourish through you. blessings.
What’s funny is I get into trouble when I start thinking I never “sin” and it is the people around me that wallowing in misery. But that is exactly what causes my own hell on earth – dare I say I have a “hollier than thou” complex?” Yes. I dare say it… I have a hollier than thou complex! Hey that feels kind of good.
Nice noticement, Alicia. A ‘holier than thou’ attitude is caused by one who has failed in the past and refuses to look. Thank you
Thank you for a thought-provoking article! Your post is the perfect antidote for anyone who wonders why life is that much harder for him. Instead of complaining “why me”, winning is about turning the setbacks and struggles into lessons for personal growth. Thumbs up to your article!
When we are harassed by negative thoughts that cause underground torment – THERE IS SOMETHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. That is what we are exploring in these conversations, Evelyn. thank you for your valuable input.
To reach the highest potentials we must “explore the deepest darkest no’s.” – I reread this sentence a of couple time.
If there are two paths in life – the perfect one and the bumpy, unknown, and explored one, I’d like to believe I would choose the latter. What can we really get out of life if we only walk down that one perfect pathway. In order to get the absolute most out of it we must make mistakes, encounter instances with the word no, and like in Lance’s post the other day, crash your car into the garage with your son in the driver seat.
I love the title you chose and I think that any example of disaster or loss or mistake ultimately shapes the essence of who you are. “Love your fate.” – Friedrich Nietzsche.
Cheers Rob!
Well spoken, Chris. Consider yourself divided in two (1) the Authentic YOU (2) the selfish personality that only acts to feed its selfishness. One attracts marvelous miracles and the other attracts NO-Attacks. You are choosing the former, it shows in your words. Thank you
“When in hell – seek to create heaven – it offers you an exquisite opportunity”
I wildly appreciate your ability to see the beauty and magnificence of the hellish moments and convey it to those who read your words.
Making it beyond the dark, challenging and tuff times can be the hardest thing to do and it’s too easy to forget that “It’s always darkest before the dawn” – to keep moving with faith and with seeing the beauty of whole picture/whole journey. Much like Alchemy
Well, hello Aileen! I love your enthusiasm! Might I offer you a spring flower? What you are thinking and holding in consciousness (as you wrote this comment) is now outmanifesting itself into your life conditions right now. Expect a wonderful blessing to come to you in the next day or two. I mean that! thank you.
HEy NOW, ROBBY! HAHA. I Love this one. Anyone who know me knows I’ve got a few “tendencies” that get me in trouble with the LADIES. But its all good in the end. It’s what puts the MAGIC in MAGIC MARC!! HA! I just don’t think we can be out there experiencing life to the fullest if we are too scared to get INTO life. I think the most successful people are the ones who have the biggest MESS UPS. Sometimes I mess up big but I ain’t afraid too try. As much as I sin my GOOD stuff is always a little more GOOD than the bad. I think thats the KEY!
If you can keep your life out of balance so the good is more than the bad – nice job, Magic! blessings
What I noticed about myself is that when my ego or the selfish personality is running my life I have what appears to be success. Everybody else would look at the money or the car that I had and probably think that I was really making it. When in reality I was doing whatever it took to inflate my ego. I was so driven to make money I didn’t care who got in my way. To the outside world I looked like a big success but my Authentic-Self was stuck in hell. It’s nice to know I am doing something right lately. My Authentic-Self has been shining through and the old Richard can’t make heads or tails of it all.
Indeed, Richard, material success does not indicate spiritual success (which is about harmony in human relationships and peace of mind). The world will tell you differently. So many wealthy folks were gravely disappointed to find out that money cannot buy happiness (it can buy comfort, but not happiness – big difference!). Blessings.
Amazing Rob, brilliant read! Turning our WOES into WOWs is a great way to remove ourselves from our self-laden shackles, and walk through the world as a free individual, free to do what we please.
Jk is an inspiration to all, and I suspect he’s influence more bloggers than he’s realised
my acronym for WOE is ‘What On Earth!’ … meaning we are helpless victims, looking to blame the world for our ills. My acronym for WOW is ‘Wonderful Obsession Winning’ at the game of life … which is claiming our rightful position as triumphant victors. Indeed exchanging WOE for WOW works! blessings
Thats the gig of life, man. We got to learn to keep our eyes up even when we are down. If we keep looking down we never pull out those blues. People love sad songs because they remind us that we all get down from time to time. It makes me feel high just to know I’m not in it alone.
Nice musical metaphors going on here, Wynton. An awakened soul and disciplined mind (which is what you are revealing yourself to be) will enter higher planes of consciousness (which is something you are doing). Thank you.
