How Help Arrives

December 4th, 2010 by rob white

When you set up a network of communication with your heart-mind, help arrives whenever you ask. The heart-mind is the deeper level of your conscious mind (the subconscious mind). It does not dwell where your conscious mind (surface mind) dwells. The conscious mind dwells in the cranium, and the sub-conscious dwells beneath the cranium (in the heart) .

Now let’s talk about ancient Greece for a moment:
History has proven that the ancient Greeks had a wonderful system of communication that enabled them to stay in tune with their larger outlying community (beyond the major city of Greece). This system of communication gave the Greeks great power over their domains.

The ancient Greek communication system consisted of a network of roads and it consisted of a small army of strong runners that connected the heart-throb of ancient Greece with all of its outer provinces.

If soldiers were needed in any area of Greece, the communication was swiftly dispatched, and troops were gathered from all the outlying regions. If there was a call for extra man-power to build something or help clean up after a severe storm, it was answered promptly.

What’s Ancient Greece have to do with the heart-mind?
Imagine your heart-mind as the center of your communication system; your intuition, your inward self-talk, your sixth sense, and your instinctive responses have many avenues that they take to reach your surface mind and guide you when guidance is needed. You have access to the infinite intelligence of Universal Mind and to millions of years of wisdom and many life-times of life-lessons.

What fabulous hidden resources are available to the person that trusts that his (her) inner guidance system exists, and that it contains a marvelous communication system that offers answers when you seek, sincerely looking for solutions.

There is extraordinary intelligence available to those who believe that there is far more available than what rational thinking allows us to see. Always put first things first – by trusting that you have an unlimited reserve of inner resources, your outer life gets easier and easier. This access to infinite intelligence is what that great Nazarene teacher of 2,000 years ago spoke of when he said, “Ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you”. John 14:13

Are you willing to trust your heart-mind over your rational mind?
Do you believe that there is a level of consciousness located beneath your cerebral cortex (in your heart), that has access to all of the intelligence of Universal Mind?

If things are not going right for you in life, it is not that there is something wrong with your emotions or imagination; you need only turn them in the direction that your heart-mind urges; then all things are available to you.

Boy, those Greeks sure got a lot of stuff right! My “rational” mind start all sorts of trouble. In fact, the people that know me best can tell the difference (better than I can) when I have a good idea or a “smart” idea. I have ton’s of ideas but I am a terrible judge of what is good and what is bad :) :) .

    • rob says:

I like your distinction, Kara, between a good idea and one that the ego convinces you is a smart idea. Oftentimes, smart ideas are clever strategies that do not work in the end. thank you

  3. Hi Rob,

I had 2 wonderful experiences yesterday where help arrived immediately. Actually, it’s always there but let’s say I experienced 2 moments where I listened.

One was a conversation with a gentleman sitting beside me in the library. The second was reading a blog post that resonated with me so strongly I had to drop everything to make adjustments to my marketing strategy immediately. The voice that’s usually small and still almost seemed to be screaming at me to move into action.

As I did move into inspired action it felt like a certain “right-ness” accompanied my every act, and I had nothing to do with it :)

We are never without assistance. As you note put first things first, trusting in the infinite storehouse within you and life becomes more simple, easier, and effortless.

Thanks for sharing Rob and have a powerful day!

    RB

    • rob says:

That’s a great response to this blog. Ryan. Your examples and your explanation bring greater clarity to what I am saying. Thank you.

  4. Hi Rob,
When I trust my intuition, or heart-mind as you call it, I make right choices and find I’m that the Universe aligns with my efforts.

When I choose to follow the rational mind – things don’t flow as easily. I must make more of an effort to bring my ideas to fruition, whereas with an intuitively inspired action the Universe assists me by lining up “coincidences” that propel me toward my goal.

Thanks so much for another enlightening post!

    • rob says:

Indeed, you’ve got it, Angela. When you listen to your heart-mind (intuition), you align with the interactive forces of creation. Thank you for mentioning that.

  5. Sharlene says:

Oh wow. this is great for my Sunday morning! I’m not sure what to do with it yet. Great webinar last week. It was my first one and I was really moved. I’ve been thinking about it all weekend. You are right: help arrives when we feel the most disconnected. Disconnection is a funny thing and I was never able to articulate it in my own mind. I think I’m getting closer. I felt really connected for the first time in ages on the webinar; which is funny because everyone is some place else!

    • rob says:

I love what you noticed during the webinar, Sharlene; when we allow our heart-minds to direct us, we feel connected even if we are sitting in a room all alone. We are all one; all cells of one body of humanity, of one large universal body that we call the cosmos. Life gets easier when we accept this. Being alone and feeling lonely are two very very different things. Nice insight that you offer. blessings.

  6. Don says:

I love Nick’s pictures. They help me think from my heart-mind. Does my heart-mind think in pictures only? Like Sharlene, I also got a big kick out of last Thursday’s webinar. I love what Jk had to say, and I love the way you brought it out of him, rob.

  7. rob says:

Indeed, the heart-mind is a ‘picture thinker’. It converts pictures into felt-visions … and felt-visions attract their physical counterparts into our lives, Don. Nice inquiry. Thank you.

  8. SaltySailorMan says:

Keeping the lines of communication open is great lesson for everything we do in life. Life gets really easy when our intuition is guiding our “rational” life. It’s those moments where life just seems to flow. I am experiencing this more and more in the later years of my life. I went through a long period where everything just seemed forced. At some point I realized I needed to stop plowing ahead and start sailing with the Trade Winds of life.

    • rob says:

I love that, Salty; ‘stop plowing through life and start sailing through life’. Can I use this in my new book? Well spoken. blessings

  9. Rus says:

Hi Rob. I believe help is always right behind us. My grandmother would call them “Guardian Angels”. I see now that all she really meant was when we are following hearts the forces of the universe support us. I still imagine Guardian Angels helping me out when I have one of those unexplainable coincidences that make life click.

    • rob says:

YES, Rus, guardian angels are available; this is a metaphor used to help us be more open and receptive to the urges of the heart-mind. Nice noticement. Thank you.

  10. “Always put first things first – by trusting that you have an unlimited reserve of inner resources, your outer life gets easier and easier.”

Your absolutely right. If we do the hardest task or even the most important task first, we win the game of life.

    • rob says:

jonathan always fishes for a pertinent statement that he can relate to … and that helps him (jonathn) improve his life. I LOVE THAT. Thank you jonathan.

  11. J.D. Meier says:

    > “an unlimited reserve of inner resource”

That’s powerful stuff. I used to conserve my energy until I found that the more I push, the more I get. It’s like a muscle that gets stronger. Sure I need to recharge, but it’s flexing it that makes it flourish.

    • rob says:

The more you push, the more you get, J.D. Hmmm. Interesting. There is the idea that going ‘nice-n-easy’ (going with the flow) is the fastest way to get to where you want to go. We learn from our successes. If pushing is working, check in to be certain that it is not causing problems somewhere else. blessings

  12. Magic Marc says:

YO ROB! I got ya. When people over think things their big brains just mess them up. I know lots of SMART people who always seem mad bitter at the world. I just do what FEELS right to me. People say I’m the most positive guy they know. I stay positive because I don’t over think things and things ALWAYS work out for MAGIC MARC!!! Peace oouuuttt!

    • rob says:

You are funny, Magic Marc. I haven’t quite figured you out, yet. I like your input. Thanks

    • sylvia says:

Hi Marc- You remind me of someone I know. Bet you’re good at living in the day too. I am curious tho…do you have someone in your life that handles the struggles of everyday like the problem with the phone bill or the car that broke down? Peace and hugs back at you…

  13. Jk says:

Rob- I’m willing to trust my heart-mind. I recall my first introduction to the heart-mind in a blog you did back in September, maybe August. It was a point in my life where I made a decision … I’m going to do something new and try it someone else’s way. See, prior I THOUGHT I had the key … well, I did – the which unlocked and left open the door of ego. But after reading that blog once, twice, and a couple more times, I realized that maybe…just maybe I didn’t know it all. The material was so foreign to me. I thought “what’s this guy talking about – a heart mind, he must be crazy (sorry!)”, but as I thought more, and really indulged myself into the wisdom that you shared – my stance changed. I then thought – maybe I’m the crazy one for thinking I knew so much, when in reality, I had only grazed the surface in life.
From that point, things haven’t been the same in my life. I’ve had experiences prior in which I could look back 2-3 years in hind site and clearly see my turning point. But I can see it back only a few months where things changed for me.
It was no mistake…it’s been years and years now that I’d been seeking something different, drastically different than what I was familiar with.
Since this event – I’ve not only become to trusted my heart mind, but I call upon it for guidance. I can now feel the difference between my rational mind, my brain, and my heart-mind.
My ATTEMPT to add value is that I truly believe we enter a new realm of understanding when we court the brilliance of our heart-mind. In my own experience, barriers of defense kept my heart mind hidden, but now it’s becoming free – providing self-guidance with assurance and confidence that I’ve never really experienced prior. I’m not some super spiritual anointed being, but I am closer to knowing myself, my authentic self. And for that, I’m thankful Rob.
Thanks for the Best Comment of the Week selection!

    • rob says:

You said a couple of brilliant things in this comment, Jk. ‘Court the balance of our heart-mind’; I love that. YES, when we court the heart-mind – it places us on center court in life (where all the riches are found). ‘Enter a new realm of understanding’; nice way to say it, JK. You are a serious author; consider that as a possible part of your successful progress through life (as you enter a new realm of understanding yourself. Have a great time in Hawaii. blessings

  14. Carol Anne says:

It is interesting. Whenever I mediate and look within for guidance I concentrate my attention where my heart is. So yes, I believe our intuition radiates outward from there. And it is always right on with its advice. Answers to big questions always come through clearly when I mediate on them like that.

    • rob says:

Thank you, Carol Anne, for giving a great example of heart-mind opening to you when you open to it through meditation. blessings

  15. John Sherry says:

Stellar stuff Rob – Greece is the word! I have begun to use instinct and inspiration so much more these days as they are true INspiration being an inside job. The outside world represents what is or has been – the inner world senses the unseen and to come so I trust it more and more. It feeds the mind like a river feeds the ocean and never dries up. My blood and thoughts are supplied from deep within. See you on the road to Athens my friend with torch held high!

    • rob says:

I like that, John: ‘Greece is the word’ … and then it becomes your world! Go out into your world with ‘torch held high’. NICE … thank you

  16. Roger Pascal says:

Hi Rob, I’m with JK. When I first started down this path with you, you might as well have been talking in another language. But slowly the lights turned on and I am starting to have experiences of this “heart-mind” way. It’s actually surprisingly simple. The way I used to go about my day before is needlessly complicated. Like being hot tempered, arguing for no reason and feeling like everyone is out to get me. Now things are much different. I see the world as a much friendlier supportive place. This is because my heart is leading the way most of the time.

    • rob says:

YES, Roger, heart-mind speaks in another language than does the surface mind. Heart-mind speaks in our original language – the language of the truth. Nice distinction. thank you

  17. Joe Wilner says:

    Rob,

Thanks for the inspiration. There really is something to getting in touch with more than our rational thinking. There are certainly limits to what rationality and practicality have to offer. They may keep up safe and secure in out current position, but will never allow us to break free from constraints and pursue something truly amazing. I used to really overanalyze every decision and idea that was presented to me. I though I was being a critical thinker, though I realized that most of the time I was being more judgemental and limiting in my scope of what was possible. I was fortunate to have friends that helped me break through by always reaching outside of there comfort zone, and allowing me to come along. This has really changed the vision I hold and what I’m willing to to approach. Thanks!

    • rob says:

You know, Joe … you have really opened up with your comments. Your heart-mind has a lot of input into what you have to say, and it shows! You are making your whole mind intelligent to ‘that part of your mind’ that you want having greater input in your life. Great move! blessings

  18. Oooohhhh…I really liked this post Rob. It is so right up my alley :) I really loved how you explained the heart-mind and pointed us in the right direction if we are willing to open up and rely on something we can not see and totally understand with our rational mind. A very powerful message. Thanks for the wisdom and the insight. Also, congrats on selling out of all your books at the Miami book fair. That is a big deal!

    • rob says:

This blog is right up your alley, Sibyl, because you are committed to placing your life on ‘easy street’ (where the experience of ‘flow’ is found), and this blog is about that. Nice noticement … blessings

  19. Alicia says:

Life is so much more peaceful when we are guided by our heart-mind. When I am really existing at this level I find I attract all kinds of interesting, helpful people. And when I am having a bad day I attract people and circumstances that just make it worse. This is always obvious at the grocery store for me. I find I can have the most amazing spiritual experiences while grocery shopping. And when I am disgruntled it can be a torturous experience. My goal is to be able to stay on the heart-mind side 100% of the time.

    • rob says:

Go grocery shopping with heart-mind in control, Alicia, and you will find the juiciest tomatoes, the ripest oranges, and the sweetest peas on the shelf. It gets that easy. Thank you

  20. Alan007 says:

Hi Rob, I’m all about getting my life made easier and easier. I’ll do whatever it takes. I’m sick of people talking trash and stuff. I like that, “First things First.” Thats how I try to go into my days now. I noticed a shift in my life when I put my work ahead of the “haters” in my life. I noticed I had a lot more time for myself. At the end of the day I am much more peaceful.

    • rob says:

INDEED, Alan, ‘talking trash’ is a waste of good creative energy. I like your shift in perspective about your life. Thank you.

  21. John says:

I dig this heart-mind talk, Rob. I’m totally tuned in. That’s why I love playing music. I can leave my rational brain behind and just GO! I would like to improve on using the connection in my daily affairs. I’m still struggling financially. This economy is just terrible and anyway, I’ve never been that motivated by money. Just as long as I am paying the rent somehow I am happy. But even that’s tough lately.

    • rob says:

You can use your heart-mind to get into flow in any domain of your life, John, including the financial domain. As you continue to believe in the heart-mind, it will prove its powerful truth to you – it is here to serve you (not harm you). blessings

  22. GeorgieBoy 1969 says:

Yes, Greece is the word this week. I’m really looking to start using my heart-mind. I’m a bit scared to turn off my rational mind. My rationale has been pretty good to me. It got me into a good school and later a law degree. Certainly, rational thinking has it’s value in my profession. But for things like connecting with my family its not the best. This is the biggest area of life I am looking to improve.

    • rob says:

Indeed, GeorgieBoy, the rational can be of great service; it simply cannot create the magnificent life that you are here to experience; that is heart-mind’s job. Trust, and it shall prove this to you. blessings

  23. Angry Ramone says:

This heart-mind conversation has been tough for me to grasp because it is a new way of thinking. I thought it was waaay out in left field at first… like “what does this have to do with my life?” But I’m starting to see “heart-mind” in action more and more now that I understand it. Actually its like when you are looking for a new car and you start seeing that model EVERYWHERE. Like Monday night I was watching the Patriots game and I noticed how much better the team is now that they got rid of some “cancerous” players. It’s like the team said “screw it, lets get back to basics.” It’s like they are playing with heart-mind again. Is that the same thing?

    • rob says:

YES, Ramone, you are really beginning to absorb knowledge that will help you improve your life. You are also noticing how this knowledge works out there in the world. Your examples are right on. blesings

  24. Trish says:

Hi Rob, I love your message here. This is so important to understand these days. I think people are starting to understand that following their heart and doing what they love what happiness is. So many people chase after money and material goods but all that is empty if you hate the path you are on. I had a bit of a mid-life crisis and completely changed careers. I took me to hit rock bottom for me to realize I was miserable. Listening to our intuition or “heart-mind” is the way to a meaningful existence.

    • rob says:

INDEED, Trish, when we listen to our heart-mind (intuition), we do not have to hit ‘rock bottom’ (out there in the world) before we make changes. Heart-mind always has your best interest at heart. Thank you

  25. Belinda says:

Rob, I absolutely love this line: there is far more available than what rational thinking allows us to see. It’s tempting to rely heavily on what appears to be most rational because so often we fear the unknown. But only relying on rational thinking is like living just within our neighborhoods and never ever letting ourselves wander in another county, let alone another state or country. We don’t have to be limited by our rational minds. It’s an insult to our mind, to our heart and to the vast design of humanity that can surpirse us in many unexpected ways.

    • rob says:

I can see that you really get how important it is to go beyond what your eyes can see, if you intend to experience your true ability. Your voice speaks clearly in this comment, Belinda. Thank you.

  26. harry says:

Thanks for the webinar the other night, Rob. I am definitely into the ROAR concept. Been thinking about all day. Makes perfect sense to me and very practical. The tough one is Realizing it in my life. I think I’m up to something but it never happens in the REAL world. I think if I work on the other parts it will all come together. Thanks a million!

    • rob says:

YES, Harry, learning to ROAR is the way to go if you want to take command of your mind and control of your life. ROAR-ing is a sequential step-by-step process; you cannot move onto the next step until you have successfully completed the step that you are on. Thank you

  27. Richard Roma says:

Hi Rob, I think my heart-mind is located somewhere in there. I know it gives me a sensation in my Gut when it is communicating. Whenever I ignore that feeling the next thing I know I am up the creek without a paddle. Ya know? Like “I knew it! But didnt listen! Stupid, stupid, stupid!” I need to stop ignoring my heart-mind and pay attention.

  28. sylvia says:

I love having the time to sit and savor these thoughts. Heart-mind is my God-gut….and as I act cleanly, I am amazed at the gifts and glories of every day. Please, don’t notice when I’m doing it well, others acknowledgement brings “her” (my ego self) out in a riot. I know how good it’s working as I have a new office and apt to decorate with the Best view of my sacred pond. How blessed I am…
