The Lost Boy

October 14th, 2010 by rob white

I am going to treat you to a different kind of blog today. When you receive this, we will have completed our first ‘4th dimensional thinking experience’ , but this experience has not yet happened. I am writing this blog on Thursday afternoon … this evening is the webinar experience. If I had a crystal ball, I could comment on this evening’s experience … but I don’t … so I won’t.

So now, here’s a spontaneous story from me to you:

A small farm boy was walking his dog in the woods, and found that he’d lost his way home. The boy could hear the town church-bell chiming like it always did at 4 p.m. (which meant it was time for him to head home for supper), but the chime was getting fainter and fainter, and he sensed that he was going in the wrong direction.

The boy’s dog did not seem to care, and so he was getting no help from her. The sound of the church-bell faded into silence … but the ringing sound of the church-bell chime kept ringing in the lost boy’s mind. This internal ringing of the church-bell chime stirred an intense urge deep within the little boy … he could feel a deep yearning building. “I just want to go home”, thought the little boy. The sun was beginning to set and shadows were appearing on the path.

This little boy began to realize that the chime that he heard deep inside was an ‘internal guide’. He couldn’t understand it intellectually, but he sensed it intuitively. He felt that this internal guide could help him if he dared to trust his intuition. He decided to sit still for a moment and just listen. The truth rang strong within him – he could hear the chime of the internal church-bell guiding him.

He turned left, and the chime became dim from within, he turned right and he heard the faint chime grow stronger. He began walking in the direction that caused the chime to ring louder and louder in his mind. Soon he found himself back on the familiar path that took him home … and the internal chime stopped. He no longer needed its guidance and it disappeared.

This small boy knew that for now on, whenever he felt lost for any reason, he could always turn deep within and expect right guidance.

The ring of truth is always within each of us!

How do you like my story?
Did it touch your heart-mind?
Did it ring true for you?
Have you ever felt helpless? … and realized that you could not seek relief from the world … but rather, would need to turn deep within and listen?
Did you attend the Mastermind Alliance Webinar?… please share your thoughts & feedback.

A personal miracle happens when we trust our internal guide.

This story just came to me right now. I believe we all have access to Infinite Intelligence and the eternal wisdom it offers. I had the courage to surrender myself to this belief, and allowed this story to develop without giving it any forethought. My wish is that it touches the sacred part of you.

Blessings,

rob

Rob: I enjoyed the story. I read it 3 times. The artwork is great too. It really does help drive home the story…I’m still a kid in that manner – when I can develop a visual (or if it’s presented) it helps increases my comprehension. I really loved the fact that the the story was simple; no tricky word-play, but it was jam packed with imagery, which allowed me to put my feet in the shoes of the little boy.

The story touched my heart mind. Why? Well the story eloquently displayed something I believe we all have: an internal chime. I’m the first to stand up and say that I’ve ran from my internal chime, instead of heading towards it. I’ was been more concerned with intellectualizing…making what’s simple, more complex…seriously decreasing my ability to achieve large goals.
    -
I can admit that I’ve been helpless. But at the time, I wouldn’t have called it that. I guess I can say that ego likely got so in the way, so I couldn’t even admit that I had that feeling. But I know that I have – looking back. I think being in those situations numerous times has finally pushed me to the point where I’m ready…ready to take it to the next level. Admit my mistakes, reform my attitude and be open minded.

The Mastermind Alliance was wonderful! I can’t wait until the next one. What a rewarding experience to be a part of – and – to do it with such great people. I feel empowered and can’t wait to see and feel what’s next.

    Rob – Thank you!

The subconscious part of the mind is ‘always a kid’, Jk, and that is why stories are always a powerful means of communicating (no matter how intelligent a person may be). I love that you get the ‘internal chime’ metaphor, Jk. This is where we have access to infinite intelligence (via our intuition). All great inventors have spoken of this (including the great scientist, Albert Einstein). You are a unique contribution to the mingling of minds that we are creating on Thurs eves at 8:00 pm. I loved what you had to say, last eve. I will see you there, again. The greatest pain (concealed by men and women), is self-doubt. When we trust our intuition – this pain disappears, Jk. blessings

  2. Kara says:

Thanks for this story Rob. I listened in last night (please forgive me for being so shy :) ). I could tell you were listening to your heart-mind which was I want to do ALL the time. It was really great to see it in action. JK is right the simplicity of finding our own inner chime is the way to real breakthroughs.

    • rob says:

Being shy is a matter of worrying what folks think of us, Kara. Fear not, everyone thinks that you are a bonus to the planet. I mean that! If you want to absorb that opinion – take a moment to dwell in the silence that exists between two thoughts (there lies the truth). See you next thurs eve at the webinar experience. blessings

I know another story. It is about a searcher, like the lost little farm boy, who is lost in the jungle. He is in dense undergrowth and cuts, cuts, cuts with his machete to make progress toward the cave of gold or whatever. He works very very hard and at the end of the day he has not reached his objective and …he is still lost. A fellow searcher climbs a tree. Doing so he sees the cave of gold and realizes they have been working very hard making a path away from their goal. They correct direction with the idea that they reach their goal…I love the idea of rising above the problem. For me, when I got to the cave I found I didn’t really care about the gold at all. I was pursuing what everyone told me I wanted so why would it satisfy me when I accomplished it? Now, like the little boy, I am learning to find my truths from the inside out. My focus may appear selfish but really I am just finally learning how to listen to that universal voice, God, and how it manifests in me. I call it listening to my gut. My name is Sylvia and I am prosperous, philanthropic and incredibly privileged. I embrace the mastermind journey with you all and I encourage the good feelings I have when I am terifically successful in business.

    • rob says:

Nice job, Sylvia, I love your personal insight (in this comment). There is only one way to stop feeling like a target, Sylvia, and that is to stop acting like an arrow. You have accomplished this. Be with this compliment for a few moments. let it sink in. You have arrived to the other side … I know that about you. Praise yourself for your successful crossover. Please join us next Thurs eve again. Blessings.

  4. Steven H says:

“How do you like my story?”

Absolutely, I think it is a good representation of our intuition.

    “Did it touch your heart-mind?”

Yes, I think emotions are the base of our intuition.

“Did it ring true for you?”

It did, although I’ve never really had such an experience before.

“Have you ever felt helpless? … and realized that you could not seek relief from the world … but rather, would need to turn deep within and listen?”

Yes, definitely. One time when I was really depressed and insecure I knew that it was up to me to save myself. I couldn’t seek guidance from the external world.

“Did you attend the Mastermind Alliance Webinar?”

Unfortunately I missed it. I’m sure it was fantastic though!

    • rob says:

Nice, Steven, you honored my questions and clearly answered them (as they pertain to you). That is a gift that you give me. I love your honesty; there is no hint of self-dramatics. how clean! Try a webinar experience with us (you will find the next one very interesting … thurs eve at 8:00 pm). One big cause of anxiety is trying to be who others want us to be (knowing it is not who we are). That’s not you, Steven. Nice job. Thank you.

  5. Hey Rob … I missed the seminar last night. My plate is so full. I liked today’s post, and am learning to listen to my intuition, for my internal chime.

If you have a moment, can you give me two or three simple steps I can take to get on board with your message … I’ve put a link on my desktop so that I can check in regularly for your posts. I think what you have to offer is important, and I don’t want it to get lost in the chaos of my expanding world.

Take good care, Rob, and keep up the good work!~
    Jane

    • rob says:

Hi Jane Rochelle, I am going to give you 3 simple steps right now to help you get on track with your dreams and aspirations. My gift to you: (1) the light is always trying to break through the wrappings of life … your plate is too full because you are getting caught in the wrappings of life … pause … breath in … pause … allow the light of truth break through. (2) What we fail to see is that being super-busy has nothing to do with being super-successful (be it with family matters, business matters, community or social matters) … how to lay our busy-ness down and respond to life effectively (that is the key). Complicated thinking cannot find simple answers (3)Persistence … while in search of simple living (living that offers profound prosperity) … must be accompanied by THE WILLINGNESS to live new insights (even if they contrast old beliefs). If you were to absorb these 3 truths, Jane, you will be living at the ‘zenith of intelligence’. Blessings

      • Thanks so much, Rob! I’ve written these down on my desk, and will meditate, and internalize them. 1) Allow the light to break through 2) Lay down the busy-ness 3) Be willing to live new insights, even if they contrast old beliefs.

I believe that for me, the third is the most relevant right now. Over the past year I’ve allowed myself to begin pursuing my dreams. I’ve been amazed at the way they’ve expanded … to the point that I can hardly keep up. Expanding, seeing new opportunities, has felt like all good things coming to me. I’ve set goals for myself. My thought has been that when I reach them, I will be where I want to be, at-least for a time, until new dreams emerge … I can see now that those goals must be flexible, and that if I abandon or revise one, it doesn’t mean I’ve failed, but that I’ve grown.

I must always listen to what I believe is best for me, and then I will be of good use to others. Perhaps the chime rings from an unexpected direction. We still know it is valid, we learn discernment, and find a new path.

Thank you Rob … just what I needed this morning! See you again soon!
        ~ Jane

  6. I love the story and the illustrations,Rob!

    • rob says:

Nicholas is the fabulous illustrator that brings my words to life, Tess. He thanks you for that compliment. The need to ‘let go’ is essential to inner conquest, Tess. Some folks think they have let go of the pain from their past … but it still shows up as shadows in their future. At a deeper level of meaning … the boy in this story is learning to let go of past shadows. Have I let go of my shadows? Have you? blessings.

  7. Rob,
You know I’m going to love any post that encourages folks to listen to their intuition! It’s out inner wisdom, guidance and protector.

I enjoyed the seminar last night. Sorry my non-use of headphones caused such a ruckus!

    • rob says:

Yes, Angela, intuition is our ‘plug-in station’ to the infinite (where eternal wisdom exists). Thanks for joining us last eve … please do come on board next Thurs eve … I will show you precisely how to place a problem in the past so that you can create space for the solution ‘now’ and in the future. Understanding how to consciously do this expands one’s psychic power (conscious creative power). blessings

  8. SaltySailorMan says:

You’ve still got it, rob. I love it when you go into that trance-like state and speak from a third mind that is higher than your individual mind. It is a rare treat to listen. I am looking forward to those moments in the upcoming webinars. I like your partner, Jk. He compliments you well, although I would have liked to interview for that position. I am just teasing. Nice story in this blog. I hear the chime deep inside, but i still smother it often with my roughshod manner of bullying my way through life.

    • Don says:

I like the chime that rings inside of me, telling me that things are all right in spite of my hectic personality. I am looking forward to next Thurs eve because I want to learn more about how I can put my problems in the past to make room for solutions now. It makes sense. My uncle does that. He always speaks about his current problems like they are in the past. He is very successful with three businesses that he owns.

    • rob says:

As you know, Salty, when we walk around with a chip on our shoulder (bullying our way through life), there is always someone who will come along and knocks it off.
The Law of Attraction is always in action. blessings

  9. John says:

I have a chiming sound tht rings inside of me that never stops. Thank you for telling me that it is not a nuisance but just the opposite – guidance. How many times have I forgotten that?

    • rob says:

A more empowering question is ‘how many wonderful times have I remembered the empowering truth (rather than -how many times do I forget?). Consciousness is the arbiter of our destiny. Blessings

    • rob says:

How many times do we forget the truth, John? How many times do we remember? The more that we remember the empowering truth, and the less that we forget it – the marvelous our life becomes. blessings

  10. Rus says:

I particularly like the fact that the dog is not concerned one way or the other because he knows he can find his way home at any time. He also knows that he can help the boy if it really becomes urgent. At least that is my interpretation. I find that others can help me if it becomes urgent, but hold back to let me fine my way when I am stuck in a pickle. Nice webinar last Thurs night. I learned that I have to dare to get involved if I truly want to participate in life, I sat back like a church mouse, listening. I liked the theme and the tips.

    • rob says:

I like how you caught the lesson about ‘the dog’ in this story, Rus. Nice insight! when we fix our attention on our automatic guidance system, we no longer have to depend on outside sources to guide us. blessinhgs.

  11. J.D. Meier says:

My intuition helps catch things my rationale-mind misses or can’t explain.

One of my most effective managers was good at asking folks on the team, “What’s your gut say?” … to get us out of our head and do a sanity check.

I’ve found that I can trust my intuition for a lot of things. I’ve also tested my limits and I know when it fails me. (Blink and Sources of Power, byGary Klein, made me rethink the limits and strengths of intuition.)

A friend of mine is a pilot and he always shares with me examples of when intuition serves us and when it fails. One example that comes to mind is that when you’re flying, your intuition often tells you one thing, but your instruments tell you another, and he said you have to trust your instruments.

    • rob says:

Interesting addition to the idea of intuition, J.D. Indeed, there are occasions when our intuition seems to be pointing North when in fact we should be heading south. There are some who say, that is not your intuition pointing in the wrong direction – it is a confused mind … and ‘intuition is never confused’. It’s all perfect. That’s what is great about being human – so many differing opinions. Einstein said,”The only thing that moves faster than the speed of light .. is the speed of thought.” A colleague said, “Prove it.” Einstein said, “I can’t prove it; I can only know it.” Even science has its limits. blessings

  12. Kara says:

I once took a course on the power of ‘story telling’. I really get the importance of conveying messages through metaphors and stories. This message is powerful for me. Even if some people do not realize the lesson in their conscious mind, I learned from the course that it can still affect them at the subconscious level, which is where most changes occur. Thanks for all that you give, rob

    • rob says:

Yes, Kara, the subconscious level of our mind (which is an eternal six year old),thinks with pictures (not intellectually, and listens to stories (not … so, stories are powerful mental ‘influencers’. Thank you.

  13. Great story. I think your giving me a run for my money when it comes to stories. I love the picture and the truth of your story is spine-busting. Success in any case, comes from trusting your inner child.

    Great post.

    • rob says:

YES, jonathan … the original inner child is the authentic part of us that has access to infinite intelligence. We must trust that there is more going on in our lives than what book-learning offers. We are divinely generated, and we do not want to deny ourselves the gift this can be. blessings

  14. Dia says:

    Hi Rob,

Very nice story my friend. We should all learn from the lost boy. He knew that he will find his way if he listens to the inner voice. I find it when we listen to our intuition deep inside, we never go wrong and we never lose our path. Thanks for sharing my friend.

    • rob says:

From a logical standpoint, Dia, the inner chime doesn’t have answers (because they are not obviously apparent). But, if we trust beyond what our surface mind can understand, we may lose our way but never permanently. Being ‘too reasonable’ often is the wrong thing to do. Henry Ford (who was illiterate and broke, when he began his aspiration to mass-produce a horseless buggy), was told to ‘BE REASONABLE’ by family, friends, and even strangers. In spite of all of those well-meaning folk’s advice, he followed that inner chime – what a charm! blessings.
