When it comes to creating your life as you want it to be – your brain has little to do with the final outcome (neither the left analytical brain or the right creative side)… it is mostly your ‘heart-mind’ that does the creating.
Let’s look at how this works:
I always wanted an exotic car.
I could see it clearly… and me driving it (right brain activity).
I’d analyzed the matter to death… and could afford it (left brain activity).
So, what’s the problem?
I’d not engaged my ‘heart-mind’ in the matter.
Ancient script: “As a man thinketh in his heart – so is he”
YES, therein lies my problem… I was still saying “no” at the deepest center of my consciousness (where my heart-mind dwells).
When I rid my mind of all reason why an exotic car was not for me (dozens of foolish opinions that I had picked up in my childhood rearing years), BINGO… my heart-mind opened and I could feeeeel the difference!
What do you think in your heart of hearts (in your heart-mind)?
Some of my noticements:
1. Many of my blog friends are too intellectual in their pursuit of life.
2. Many of my blog friends do not feel deserving of living as they dream (though they will not admit it).
3. Many of my blog friends become know-it-alls (arrogance rather than humility) to avoid the pain of change.
How do I know this? I was all of that at one time and so I have a sight for noticing when others get caught in these self-deceitful traps.
Lest you believe I am a materialist… I am not. I own a lot of homes, cars, expensive clothing etc… but I am not enamored with material things and I know that happiness is an INSIDE / OUT job. Money is from the outside. It cannot change the inside. The inside happiness is a result of proper heart-mind thinking (which I practice daily now). I speak of material changes because in this physical realm of existence, material changes are often a scientific measure to notice if we are changing. Am I changing or just pretending?… GREAT QUESTION
How do we change the inside (the model of reality in which we live)?
What do you want… better friendships… a closer family unit… a great job… a million dollars?
You must work more with your heart-mind?
If you are interested – say so… and I will show you how on future blogs.
I have sold over 20,000 copies of my book 180 over the past 18 months. This is a direct consequence of heart-mind thinking on Nick and my part. Have you purchased one (or more)? THANK YOU. Gratitude is part of heart-mind thinking.
I have sold over 500 e-books over the past 30 days. Have you purchased one (or more)? THANK YOU. Appreciation is heart-mind thinking
Pondering the above blog material will give you a peek at your model of reality – is it one filled with prosperity where you easily give value to receive value… or are you still clinging to old opinions that you picked up during childhood rearing days – thoughts that stop you from transforming your life?
Please leave comments that will help others learn (for YOUR SAKE)… you do not receive value unless you give value.
1. Do you give value in simple ways in your life – how?
2. Do you think you are entitled to great information on ‘how to live prosperously’, but refuse to give value by sharing your thoughts or purchasing something?
Pay attention to how you have trained your heart-mind to think – it reveals why your life is as it is.
I notice when I hold some folks mind’s to the flame – by asking rigorous questions – they flee. Don’t be a flee-er, or your life will be just as it was yesterday and the day before that and the day before that. Remember Shakespeare’s quote, ‘tomorrow and tomorrow creeping forth at the same steady pace’… don’t let that happen to you.
Join the Mastermind Alliance Webinar that will begin on Oct. 14 (it’s free). It will blow your left-brained intellectual mind so you can get to the heart-mind where real transformation occurs. Please sign up here if you are interested in participating.
Blessings

Your blogs often make my hackles go up which means there is probably truth here that part of me is resisting. In the past I have found it difficult to invest in myself. My head thinking tells me that I need to have success before parting with resources. If I hush that voice up I can see that way of thinking doesn’t serve me well, it keeps me stuck with my same old thoughts and beliefs. It keeps me in a state of unwillingness and frustration as well because I think I am missing out on the good stuff. Listening from the heart seems a simpler and kinder way to tackle this subject. Spending money to get my blog going was an investment in myself and my worth, as does obtaining materials that help me grow and remind me, no, not only do I not know it all, I know very little. Thanks for giving me a lot to think about here…and more importantly, a lot to feel.
Thank you, Clearly Composed, for your honest response to this blog. YES, when we resent or feel anger of any nature … we are resisting something that we are holding tight to (an opinion, inside of us). I still find myself caught up in that cycle. I remind myself, “If I want to see something new for myself – I must do something new for myself, and the newness requires an open mind.” blessings.
Hi Rob,
The part about being too intellectual in the pursuit of life really spoke to me. I have for a while now been relying more on my intuitive side because in the past, being to intellectual has not served me at all. Of course I’m receiving quite a bit of criticism from friends and family for this, but I’m too busy listening to my heart to pay much attention. I know that I have a very different perspective on “how life works” these days.
I of course intend for my writing to add value to the world, and recently, (as you know) have invested in ways to help me to work more comfortably and efficiently. I have noticed, that when others have criticized my choices, it is much easier for me to remain confident in my path than it would have been in the past.
So far, the small results have proven that I am on the right track.
INDEED, Jenny Ann, when we listen to our heart – their are no errors. There may be ‘oopses’ but no permanent errors. What you are saying is that for now on you intend to ‘be on your own side’. What a great gift you give to you. blessings
Congratulations on selling many copies of your book and e-books, Rob! This is not surpirsing at all to anyone who follows your blog.
Mind versus heart (or ego versus soul) is one of my favorite topics because I believe each is a territory full of depth that we each must explore. When I was in my 20s, I would often have an internal war going on between the two. I was inept at synthesizing both, demonizing one or the other depending on which is giving me the most head/heart-ache. But now I’ve grown to make peace with both, for the most part. One can’t exist/thrive without the other. Feeding both equally (not neglecting either) seems to be a prudent path for a richer/fuller life.
Ah yes, Belinda, the self-sabotaging act of demonizing the heart and then the head and then the heart and then the head. How good I was at that. Thank you for this sharng. You are now seeing life from a healthy viewpoint – isn’t it lovely? blessings
Ha ha, Belinda! I would have sworn you wrote that to me LOL
I feel like I get stuck in having it be all one way or the other. A middle ground has not come easy to me and I struggle with that. Glad to know I’m not alone.
Hi Rob,
Congrats on your book sales, the numbers are but one indication that you are thinking from your heart
I intend to live more from my heart mind each day. This process has been painful to my ego but freeing to my being.
By thinking and acting from the heart I naturally seek to add value with each moment. I express gratitude and feel the outpouring of love with each Thank You. I’ve always said “Thank You” but it was only recently that I felt thankful when saying these words.
Thanks for sharing your super insight and have a great day.
Ryan
YES, Ryan, thinking and acting in ways that are ‘freeing to your being’. Wonderful way of saying it!!! Youare coming around, opening up. What a giftto the world! The painfulprocess of which youallude -
YES, Ryan, thinking and acting in ways that are ‘freeing to your being’. Wonderful way of saying it!!! You are coming around; you are opening up. What a gift to the world! The painful process to which you allude = THE PAINFUL TRUTH IS ALSO THE HEALING TRUTH (you are catching onto this). blessings
“Heart Thinking”. I get it, but I’m certain that I don’t get it at the level that I think it’s necessary to be effective in my life. I bet/know I’m holding myself back at so many things, and in so many ways because I’m thinking with my brain; which I classify as logic. But to my ignorance, I’m often left with a head scratch, followed by a headache…I bet it’s because I’m relying too much on the brain, not nearly enough on the heart.
I’d love and need to learn more on this topic. So Rob, I look forward to next jewel of this series.
I feel as though I give value in little ways. I personally make it a point to go out of my way in order to please someone else. Of course at the end of the day I receive some type of fulfillment from this type of exercise, but so does the other party – that’s how I gauge the selfish factor, currently. I do this mostly with my family, friends and co-workers.
I seek to do things like this more often for strangers and others in need – and in better and more impacting ways.
I know I’m entitled to great information on living prosperously. The problem is finding it. As I seek, I grow. But it’s really hard to measure the rate of growth, or measure the impact of information.
Thank you for the thought provoking article. You always make me think…deeply too. I get this reality check after reading your articles which make me realize the work I have to do on myself.
Peace.
INDEED, Jk, brain thinking will tie your shoes and have you look both ways before crossing the street (so you don’t get hit by a car), but brain thinking is not what had man walk on the moon or cure polio. Einstein said, “My gifts of fantasy are more powerful than my ability to assume more knowledge.” ‘Gifts of fantasy’ are heart-felt visions (heart thinking), which are what produce miracles in our lives. You are allowing your curiosity to get the best of you, Jk … GREAT IDEA!!! blessings
One more note…
I’m honored to be this week’s winner of 180 from my commenting in “Unraveling the Mystery of the Mastermind Alliance”. Can’t wait to read it. Thanks Rob!
if there’s anyone most deserving of to succeed it’s you Rob. It’s so apparent how hard you work, with everything you do… your attention and attentiveness to a person’s individuality is a gift and i’m sure is a factor to your success.
Cheers!
Thank you for the noticement, Parker Lee. When we know ourselves, it is really quite simple to take care of ourselves … and I am beginning to know the ‘self’ that I want running the show (when it comes to my life). blessings
Hi Rob. I check myself for authenticity all the time. No matter how big my dream is I try to keep myself small. No matter how we express, market, live, as long as our actions and reactions are authentic to who we really are then truth flows. I think the secret is finding out who we are. Often that’s a confronting process. I find peace in knowing myself, and some of the stuff’s not great, but that peace tempers the reactivity and I become an individual, the creator, rather than the created. I’m my father’s son because I choose to be, I’m not my father’s son. I’m Simon, and that revelation allows me to act from the heart. Beautiful points here my friend. Talk soon.
Nice job, Simon … great response. Authenticity is invaluable. When we are honest with ourselves, we let truth support us with changes we need to make to live as we dream. That is authenticity. When we twist the truth – we no longer have the truth available as a tool to help us create our lives as we dream. This is living in pretense (no good). blessings.
Hi Rob,
In the past several months, I have shifted from a mentality of needing money to one of offering from my heart. This difference has changed everything. It takes my focus off of worrying about money and puts it on generosity, gratitude, and love.
Thank you for your wise and supportive words.
YES, Gail, a shift in consciousness from fear (around money) to being at ease with money can cause miracles to unfold in the financial domain. That’s called self-transformation (which is far better than mere self-improvement). Thank you for that personal experience. blessings.
Hi Rob,
A few years ago I started learning how to live from my heart and it has made all the difference in the world!
Alex
Heart-mind living is natural. Intellectual living is superficial and feels hollow. Nice switch, Alex. You are recognizing your psychic power when you live from heart-mind. blessings
Hi Rob,
I lead with my heart..and I live a life full of amazing, wonder filled peace and joy..I share from that abundance..a smile, a kind word, a practical something that allows someone to make a change in their life..
When I am heart centered there is a natural flow, an effortlessness to life, an abundance of so much good..
When my mind gets in the way, I turn it off..my senses tell me the truth..
When something requests thought, I go to nature and hike or sail, kayak or walk by the ocean’s edge..there is always an Answer..
Like you said, when my heart is not in it, “it” just doesn’t happen..but man when my heart is in it, *anything* truly is possible..
YES, Joy, heart-mind thinking puts us in the natural flow of life, which is always upward toward unity, harmony and prosperity. Nice comment. Built within all of us is a natural inclination to be in flow. blessings.
You own a lot of homes? You are an international man of mystery … “White” … “Rob White” … “shaken, not stirred.”
> happiness is an INSIDE / OUT job
So true.
It sounds like your book is doing really well and I see why. You’ve blended fun and insight in a way that works.
One of my mentors says that the mind can rationalize anything. So he said what’s important is, what do you really want. Similarly, another mentor said to me that when you partner at work, it’s not about commitments or contracts. If partnering turns into contract enforcement, then it’s not really partnering. If you want it to happen, you’ll make it happen. If you don’t, you won’t. You have to know what you really want.
“Love Will Turn You Around” is an interesting song about heart.
YES, that’s a great message that you have shared with this blog community, J.D. I like the opinion that if “partnering is forced behavior’ it is not ‘partnering’. A healthy mind knows when partnering is healthy and when it is unhealthy. blessings
Congrats Rob. I’ve seen you in action and have my copy, so it is no surprise to me. Looking forward to these MMA’s. This is why I fell in love with music. At first it is all brain, brain, brain… then it is all heart, heart, heart.
nice, John … from brain to heart. That simple. Thank you
I think when you live with your heart. No one can trace your steps, follow your lead or walk behind you. Heart thinking is the best way to live. For the decision comes for a place of love rather than rationality.
Indeed, jonathan, heart-thinking is lovable and rational thinking is often cold. What a huge difference this one aspect of thinking can make! Think of action as something totally different that you can do with your mind when you are heart-thinking. blessings
Rob,
As I read this, I’m reminded of where I’m at right now in life. Earlier this summer, I signed up with a life coach, to work on really becoming more focused on what truly matters to me. This has been both an investment in time and money (and something I’m continuing yet today). What I’ve really found through this process is how much “the heart” means to me and in living my life most fully. And in that, in those moments when I connect with the collective heart, and in some way (small or large) bring heart-centered value – that’s such a good place to “be”…
Love this message, and especially in how it challenges me to think more deeply about my own personal journey…
So many folks (including me) can get so caught up in the intellect that we forget how important heart-felt thinking can be. Nice noticement, Lance. Just catching a glimpse of this can be enough to change things. blessings
Hi Rob,
I think you have hit on an age old debate of which is better: heart or mind. For me, I have always valued living from the heart but it took me time to have the courage to do so. I began when I was in my twenties and it was hard. Some family members stopped talking to me and I lost some so called friend but I have never regretted the decision. I have enjoyed every single second.
To me, the purpose of life is to not only grow on an individual level but to also help others. We all have something of value to share with the world. Money gets in the way because people give it way too much power. Money is energy and our experience of money is determined by our thoughts about it. There is enough abundance in the world for all of us. We just need to believe it and live according to what is in our hearts.
YES, Nadia, heart-thoughts are vital to what we create. so, we cannot afford to neglect heart for intellect. I have been successful in those things that I pour my heart-felt thoughts into, and have lost out on those dreams that I have intellectualized and analyzed to death (literally – to death). Intellectualizing too much is like a lonely man trapped on a desert island trying to think his way off. When he opens his heart to escaping the island, he becomes a beacon of light that others pick up on … and soon a ship happens by to pick him up. Thank you.
Nadia, you summed it up nice. People don’t understand that there is plenty of abundance for all. I know that the more I am able to give it away the faster it comes back. Sometimes it boggles my mind. Helping others is the most fulfilling thing we can do.
Hi Rob,
I really enjoyed this “meaty” post! I do give great value to my clients and I believe that’s why they refer more clients to me. I want to do the best job possible for them so that they will be so happy – that they send more business my way! We all need money – it’s essential in the world to survive, but I do believe that focusing on the value you deliver and making the experience a truly pleasant and meaningful one does translate into money in the end of you do this.
As far as spending money to learn about prosperity, etc. If you saw my library of books you’d know why I’m shaking in my boots as I contemplate packing and moving when I sell my house!
The way I understand how you explained heart-mind thinking is that in order for you to have accepted something in your heart – you must have cleared out all the psychological obstacles to that idea. I think the heart is the seat of the soul – and I don’t think the soul is able to accept anything that isn’t pure and authentic. So when we have true heart-mind thinking the way is totally clear for a perfect manifestation of our desires. Have I got it?
You sorta got it, Angela. Might I be rigorously honest? You intellectually explained heart-mind … and heart-mind is a felt experience (with no real words in the human language to point directly at it). AND YES – YOU GOT IT! Heart-mind is higher perception than the left and right hemisphere of the brain can begin to conceive. It contains no mechanical thinking. we will nibble at the concept ‘heart-mind’ in the webinar until every participating member experiences it. It is an awesome experience! blessings.
I’m heart thinker all the way. Sometimes it gets me in trouble but I never have regrets when I am coming from my heart. Over analyzing always gets me in trouble. I think i have to learn how to balance the two. This is a challenging one Rob, Thanks!
Balance is vital to living in harmony, Rus. No lie causes more pain than the falsehood: ‘using one’s head is all it takes to live a successful, happy. life’.
That just ain’t so … we’ve gotta turn to the heart and ask it what it thinks about our heady conversations. blessings
Rob,
Great stuff! Your posts are always inspiring. I agree that reaching a point were we can listen to our true self is necessary to really find success in life. Its easy to rationalize and justify many situations in life that we don’t truely desire. They seem right and so we go along for the ride. Somehow we must learn to listening to our authentic self. Thanks for the notion of the heart-mind, very valuable.
‘Rationalizing in order to justify our behavior’ is a dangerous strategy that gets us in a lot of trouble, Joe. Thank you for this addition to the blog conversation. It is important for us to become aware of our own biases and prejudices and stop rationalizing them away. Life is meant to be simple. thank you.
Hi Rob.
That is certainly true about how we do heavy analysis of the facts and details regarding a topic or desire, but it is not until we get our “heart-mind”, as you describe it, or our emotions and vigor and momentum, toward a goal, that we suddenly see our way through it. I can think of a few examples of my own where I could see the path of a project from step A to B to C and so on, but since I didn’t have that heart-mind in it, I would just leave the project to be done later, still knowing all the steps. After a while, steps A and B and C start to look much harder, if only because so much thinking has been done about them, while someone else who barely thought past step A has done it and moved on.
For your question about giving simple value, I do it in various ways, by recognizing what someone likes and providing it, or by making a random thing that I like to create that they may like.
For the other question, I’d say sort of. There are certainly advantages to knowing and practicing how to live prosperously.
YES, Armen, how many times have I ‘thought out’ the steps of getting from point A to point B (with a project), and then nothing got done. That was because my thinking never went from my left hemisphere (factual thinking) into my heart-mind (where motivation occurs). Nice noticement. When knowing you have a heart-mind, it becomes easy to motivate yourself. Thank you.
“Lest you believe I am a materialist… I am not. I own a lot of homes, cars, expensive clothing etc… but I am not enamored with material things and I know that happiness is an INSIDE / OUT job.”
DING.
That is all. Thank you.
What does ‘DING’ mean, Steven? In that same paragraph, I say that’I speak of material changes because in this physical realm of existence, material changes are often a scientific measure to notice if we are changing.’ I am not here to defend my point of view, however … it seems that you have taken one statement out of context to say ‘DING’. Is ‘DING’ a pleasant acceptance of what I have said? I am not certain what you mean? When our terms are on the same terms as truth – we meet everything in life on harmonious terms (we seek to find the higher good). I assume this is what you are doing, and so I say ‘thank you’. blessings
Ugh. Your being tough on me today, Rob. But thats what I need so don’t let up. I guess after pondering this for a bit I can definitely feel entitled to get more “stuff.” I begrudgingly pay for things and always feel kind of ripped off. I’ve been working hard on changing my attitude about giving more. I give in small ways now, like giving a couple bucks to street people or my coffee guy. The good new is I’m coming along.
Yes, Roger, the great news is that you are coming along. I have seen marvelous changes in your attitude around money. Anxiety around money comes from a fear of poverty. If you will be fully aware of the fear (without resistance), magic begins to happen. blessings
Rob,
This is so close to me as I write and my blog is about finding a balance between what our heart and mind wants. Sometimes, they are in sync and other times not.
Wow, impressive ebooks and 180 book sell statistics! I am impressed and happy for your success! keep up the great work.
Thank you, Preeti. Yes you are a heart/mind kind of person … that is evident. You project your thoughts warmly. When we are ‘at home’ with others, we are ‘at home’ with ourselves. that is a comfy feeling. blessings
It really bugs me when people stand around with their hands in their pockets waiting for someone else to pick up the tab. I’ve noticed that there are two kinds of people in life: Those who always jump at the chance to buy a round and those that sits back and wait for someone else to do it. I want to live life as a giver rather than a taker.
Hi Rob,
I want to thank you for every post that you write Rob. I am saving this article, so I can read it over and over again. I agree that the heart mind is where all creation happens. If we can’t feel it deep down inside our heart and our subconscious mind, then we won’t get the results that we seek. It happened to me so many times when I believe in my heart that I’m going to get something I get it, but when I try to use my brain, nothing happens. Over the past 2 years, I’ve been getting into the habit of using my heart mind more and I am seeing great results, althought it is “hard” sometimes. YES, please write some articles on how to work with our mind heart. I look forward for these articles. Thanks for sharing my friend
Thank you, Dia, I will continue to show you how to work with the heart-mind (which sits deep in the subconscious where our power lies). Please join the webinar (coming up soon). There, I will give specific examples where we work together from heat-mind. Most folks dwell in a deep psychic sleep of which they have no perception. You are waking up, Dia. blessings
Yeah, Dia. Right on my man. I can’t tell you how many projects or half baked ideas I’ve started trying to “Brain” my way through it. I would just keep trying to convince myself that it would happen. I get into a pattern of fooling myself and rationalizing that I know what I’m up to. On the other hand goals that I take on and just feel it in my heart come easy and quickly. I wish I could stick with my heart all the time but I seem to fall back into the over-thinking every once in a while. I’ll be tuning into the seminar!
Allah spoke about these in Quraan … also the Islam prophet Muhammed
… spoke about the heart-mind and how the heart affect the decision of the brain …. also said that if the heart is okay , every thing will be so …. also said that who think that Muhammed is a liar , he is following the rule you mentioned ” 2. Many of my blog friends do not feel deserving of living as they dream (though they will not admit it).”
