From the lowliest earthworm up to the highest human intelligence – all share a single consciousness. Albert Einstein agreed with this opinion in one of his later essays. Being human gives us the gift of experiencing a higher level of consciousness than the rest of the animal kingdom, AND there are higher levels than what our human rational minds offer!
“If man was meant to fly, he would have been born with wings.” This was the cry of the newspapers when Orville and Wilbur Wright began working on their creation of a ‘heavier than air’ flying machine. They were looking at life from a higher level of consciousness than what the World Voice (the voice of the masses) was chanting; otherwise – we’d still be experiencing our air travel in hot air balloons.
There is nothing that you have to do with this knowledge (that there are higher levels of consciousness available to you); you simply need to open to it if it interests you. When you choose to open to higher levels of consciousness (BE OPEN MINDED), you allow infinite intelligence to operate through you. You are always sharing a consciousness with this One Intelligence that created this entire cosmos – what a wonderful and splendid thing it is to share a higher level.
When you open to higher consciousness, wonderful pearls of wisdom become apparent. Emerson spoke of beams of higher intelligence that would shine on his mind. Look at the wonderful works he produced because of opening to this.
What remarkable hidden talent would that higher consciousness awaken in you if you allowed its beams of higher intelligence to shine on your field of consciousness? What might you be? What would you do?
It is a position of impregnable strength to open to a consciousness above what your worldly senses allow you to see. I find remarkable things happening around me when I allow this to occur. For example; a few years back, I had the opportunity to meet and spend a couple of weeks with one of the world’s great philosophers simply because I intuitively delayed an air flight (no particular reason) and stayed a couple of extra days at my California home before returning to New England.
What does Infinite Intelligence have in store for you? Are you willing to explore a higher level of consciousness than what you currently experience when you jump out of bed in the morning, gulp your coffee and run off to work? What lofty dream would you dare to pursue if you knew there was a higher consciousness available to you?
I appreciate the input you folks offer with these weekly blogs. Your comments not only enhance my perspective on ‘all of it’, they also help the whole Mind Adventure community. I receive a lot of feedback from other community members who say they sometimes learn more from you folks (who leave comments) than they have learned from my blog. I love that!
God, I love the idea of a beam of higher intelligence guiding me. If I knew I was able to access more intelligence than my daily routine requires, I would most definitely quit my job and start my own travel agency business. I would love to be self-employed – to be my own boss!
Indeed, Kara, when we explore a higher level of consciousness than what our daily routines require – we are able to access an intelligence that empowers us to begin, now, creating our future as we secretly dream it will be.
I love this blog – it reminds me that ‘If I always think what I always thought, I will always only get what I always got’. That was great when you taught me that, rob. If I am to accomplish new adventures in my life (different from yesterday) – I must elevate my consciousness so that I may think beyond my mechanical thoughts of yesteryear. Kudos … I really want to begin trading my rare coins seriously (and make a lot of money doing it). It is a hobby I want to take to the next level.
Yes, Salty … the conditioned mind can only imitate. It cannot create. Therefore it will always hand you similar thoughts (thoughts that are like yesterday’s thoughts). This promises you a life like yesterday’s life.
I do believe that beams of higher intelligence flow thgrough me when I let it. My poetry is a reflection of those beams, sometimes. If I were to raise my consciousness and trust myself, I would complete my book of poems and find a way to publish it, rather than continue to work at my current job stocking shelves at Costco.
Indeed, Barry, you are sensing your ‘unlimitedness’ when you are writing beautiful poetry. If you were to accept this as true about you ongoingly – your life would turn in an instant.

I’ve ascribed to the philosophy to ‘be open to all and attached to none.’ I’ve found it beneficial to draw from other’s ideas, lessons in experiences, feedback… to be open to possibilities. It may sound simple enough, but I have days where I falter — doubt and disappointment appear on occasion.
My ‘lofty’ dreams are dynamic. I like to believe I’m going for it now. I have the good ‘ol vision board and have broken things down to actionable tasks. I suppose my current dream is to have bionic speed or more time

We all falter, Kim. The conditioned mind (with its False version of you) does not intend to let go without putting up a fight. Out thought-habits of the past are like the sirens that tried to lure Odysseus onto the rocks of despair. Clearly you are a person who intends to go all the way. Welcome aboard!
Being alive with the knowledge of higher levels of consciousness is not only empowering because of the ability to be open to greater intelligence and creativity, but is comforting on a level where I know life here is not alone in the universe. When I slow down and allow myself to just be without thinking so much, beams of higher intelligence flow through me: out of my mouth, onto paper, through my fingers to my guitar. I am much happier when I’m not thinking so much.
Its spectacular to know that so many people want to better themselves and lead happy lives. I find so often that I complicate my life for no reason at all. I once heard that “life is simple, we just complicate it.” I suppose this is true, but I think life is difficult no matter what. We grow, we discover more, want more out of life, and that causes complications. Starting with gratitude for everything I have and am, I can simplify my life, while not focusing on things that I don’t have and aren’t.

You are a philosopher, Terrence. Slowing down is simply a matter of quieting the chattering mind. Yes, Terrence, a quiet mind opens the door to the unlimited side of you. You mention that you find that YOU complicate matters in your life … and then you mention that LIFE is complicated. Might I suggest that life is never complicated, but rather – it is a complicated mind (and only a complicated mind) that does that to life. I know … I’ve been there many times (less often, lately). You put great thought into this feedback, Terrence. YOU KEPT IT SIMPLE!
Ooooh lovely Rob and the whole message of this so ties into my latest article too. It’s amazing what we can tap into and without even trying when we just relax and open up. As soon as we gravitate our consciousness to the mundane we become stuck and frustrated. When we think on higher and wider levels our whole being changes. We can start to really feel the movement of the universe and that oneness that is.
YES, Amit … when we take a broader perspective of ourselves and life in general, we are able to elevate our consciousness above the trite and mundane matters (from which the ego, with its soap opera mentality, gets great pleasure). I’m a carpenter. I love my work. I can tell when that beam of intelligence is flowing to me. I will have a problem with a job and none of my old ideas will work. When I settle down and just allow myself to think fresh – bingo! The answer comes.
I love your response, Burt. YES, infinite intelligence comes to us with answers to any question we pose. It does not always have to be esoteric. That which is pratical is always spiritual.

You never know when something is going to hit you. I read, “What remarkable hidden talent would that higher consciousness awaken in you if you allowed its beams of higher intelligence to shine on your field of consciousness?” It stopped me in my tracks. I stopped to let this question drop in. It made me wonder: what I am blocking from being expressed? If I let go even more deeply, what would have room to sprout? What treasures are waiting for me that I haven’t yet seen?

Wow Gail … you get it! What a powerful response to my question. Clearly you are ready to allow infinite intelligence to flow to you, dwell within you and express through you. It can be something as esoteric as intuitively grasping a higher truth or something as practical as coming up with a new chocolate chip cookie recipe!
I too find that I am more able to find better solutions to problems in my work when I practice stillness and acceptance. (Accepting the problem at hand instead of being frustrated or stressed about it helps me to become still).
I also find that paying attention to what my life is telling me is a great way to connect.
If things aren’t the way I want them to be in my life, then what is it in my thinking that I’m being guided to change? (usually a lot!)
As for my lofty dreams? I’m working at starting my own business. Something I’ve always felt a pull towards doing but let my mind talk me out of it. Now I feel certain that, that is my path, but fear and doubt still have their way sometimes.

LOL Rob. It seemed I was getting hit over the head so many times that I HAD to listen! The listening sure is saving me from a lot of grief.
I was looking for a paint color for my workshop. I tried severa and liked none of them. I simply relaxed, went for a walk, and the light of infinite intelligence beamed to me through a blossoming tree. I loved the color of the blossoms, took one to Home Depot … had it custom made. It looks great on the walls of my workshop.

Yes, Phil … when we place our faith in the truth (rather than the superstitions and myths passed down over thousands of years by the world-voice), we elevate our consciousness above the petty daily vexations. In this state of consciousness, we access intuitive knowledge that empowers us to freely determine our earthly destiny.
Thanks for reminding me in one of your comments to one of ‘your commenters’ – SPIRITUAL AND PRACTICAL ARE ONE AND THE SAME; THEY WORK ARM IN ARM. I can think of times when infinite intelligence beamed down on me while I felt confused and allowed a higher intelligence to help me out. Once I lost my car keys in a football stadium while watching a big game. What am I to do? I began panicing, and then decided to relax and know the answer would come to me. It came to me in a flash – stand at the entrance of the parking lot with a sign … I LOST MY KEYS IN THE STADIUM. Something told me this foolish idea would work. It did !!! A stranger came up to me and asked: “are these yours?” They were mine. His son found them (age eleven) and just told his dad when he read my sign.
Wow John, I love it – using the intelligence that creates this ever-expanding cosmos to help you find your car keys. How great is that? The infinite makes no distinction between big and small requests. That is because it is infinite, and from that perspective – everything is the same size.

What a wonderful topic this week. I totally resonate with the concept of allowing infinite intelligence to work through us. The concept that we are separate from infinite intelligence is only perceptual. When I overcome the perception of separateness miracles happen; ideas appear and answers appear and coincidences arise.
We can and do receive information and guidance from a higher intelligence. We need to slow down and learn to listen to hear the pearls of wisdom that await us.

When we are willing to let go of those limiting opinions that attach themselves to us (or are we attached to them?), then and only then, are we able to relax and allow the infinite (of which we are a part)guide us. YES, Dia our attachments attach themselves to us. Wise noticement that you have made! What we own – owns us. When we are free, we own nothing … and have access to everything.

YES, Richard, thinking and considering what is going on for us in our lives is key to changing what’s not working. Without a change of thought, without new considerations – we can only get more of what we have always got.
Meditation helps me get in touch with a higher consciousness, but I have to stay alert during the day or I basically get in my own way all day long
When I set out with a positive intention to do something, not being attached to outcome but enjoying the process, really cool things happen. Usually things go a direction I would not have chosen, yet it’s way better than what I’d been thinking/planning. Now, if only I didn’t need to relearn this lesson so often. Haha.
Yes, Jean, it seems that we all have to re-learn valuable lessons over and over again. The conditioned mind (which is fraught with thoughts of lack and limit) is stubborn. It does not let go of its position without putting up a struggle. Thus the necessary repetition on our part. Great comment – thanks.
Terrific post, Rob. Reading this was like finally paying attention to a little kid who wants to show me a colorful drawing after reading hours of depressing news.
I find your message here in action when it comes to creativity. Say painting or even writing. If we’re open, every now and then, beauty/truth/light transmits through us and comes alive on canvas or on paper. It’s hard to explain and none of it is pre-planned but when the product is finished, its inspiration is hard to ignore.
Belinda, clearly you have reaped the rich harvest of mingling your consciousness with the infinite. YES, it is in the ‘final product’ that we can rest with the knowledge: ‘It is done through me, not by me’ Thank you.

YES, Sibyl, that’s the word – ‘DIMENSION’. We live our lives in a different dimension than what the world offers when we rely on more than our five senses to give us our reality – when we tune into a higher consciousness. I know that all forms of life are but one consciousness on many levels. I communicate with my dog telepathically – all of the time. If I begin to think about taking a walk, she gets up and sits at the door (ready to go).
I love how you have given a very common example of mingling consciousness Kara. If it ain’t practical, it just ain’t spiritual. Thank you.
I remember you talked about Einstein in the seminar and it was eye opening to realize how “out there” he was. Of course he wasn’t really going whacky he was starting to see at a deeper level. It’s kind of funny all the great geniuses do not take credit for their work. I see this again and again once I became alert to it. My favorite Beetle was always John Lennon and towards the end of his life he was really starting to understand the idea of One Consciousness.

It’s wonderful to look at our technology today and know that if people from centuries ago saw how we lived, they would think all of us to be miracle workers and all of this to be a fantasy but it isn’t and it’s real because we have reached for that higher level of consciousness…..it’s brilliant. Farnoosh, you are a wonderfully open-minded human being. It shows up in all of your comments. Do you know wht a gift tht it is humanity (open-mindedness)? Expect miracles to happen (Farnoosh) – they will. A miracle is simply something that occurs that is too simple to explain.
I always have experiences where i am able to prove that we all share one consciousness. I will think about someone and within minutes that person will call me. That happens all of the time to me. Know I want to take this skill deeper and think of god and have god speak to me when I need advice. I consider god to be the ‘infinite intelligence’ of which you speak.
Tht’s a great practical example, Don, of mingling consciousness. Most folks have had the experience of thinking about someone, and soon thereafter the phone rings. Guess who? It’s great that you are ready to take it to the next level and begin communicating with the intelligence behind the creation of this entire cosmos.
We’re all one consciousness? Then why do we think so differently? I would think we would be able to get along better if we are all one consciousness?
Yes, Norm, I believe we are all sharing one consciousness AT DIFFERENT LEVELS. Therein lies the challenge. If we are caught in a fight/flight reactive level (lower level) of consciousness, then we do not all get along. If we are experiencing a higher level of consciuousness, then we begin to get along (because we begin to see the magnificent ‘ONENESS’ of all of it). I hope this answer helps you with your inquiry.
I just became conscious of the fact that if we all share the same consciousness – then I can snatch the thoughts that Aristotle or Einstein was having when they were in physical form. Now, that is something worth doing.

Naopleon Hill used to say that he was able to tap into the minds of great thinkers, Salty, because of the fact that all minds mingle (one consciousness).
I can tap into my grandmother’s consciousness and she passed on four years ago. I hear her voice very clearly.
