we all have a little Don Quixote in us

Don Quixote NotemanDon Quixote had created a model of reality that filled his world with many imaginary enemies. In reaction to this belief system, he created himself to be a knight in shining armor. He went out into the world to conquer these enemies that he’d created in his imagination.

He attacked a sword-wielding giant that turned out to be nothing more than a windmill with blades swinging in the wind. His distorted model of reality compelled him to become what he was NOT (a knight in shining armor trying to save the day), which had him behaving in bizarre ways.

outta my way jerk!

Become aware of your model of reality. Your reality is ‘your personal model’, and the odds are that some of it is based on erroneous notions that you accepted as true during childhood rearing. You are an unlimited being and the world is here to help you experience that. If you are experiencing anything less, it is time to investigate what you consider true about you and the world in which you live. To the degree that you find it difficult to live in this world, your model of reality is erroneous; it’s hampering you.

Be Cool Man

When your points of view are fraught with error, you find yourself unnecessarily struggling with the environment in which you live – you begin attacking harmless windmills, believing they are evil powers trying to conquer you. When you aspire to notice what is erroneous about your model of reality, the truth quite naturally shines through. You will feel very different about the world in which you live, and you will see yourself in an entirely new light.

use comparison on yourself

noteman commute day 1It is fact that “the truth shall set you free,” but only by utilizing that truth when responding to your daily affairs. Here’s an awesome truth: ‘you are a superlative creator’. If you allow old thought-habits (that make you feel inadequate), decide how you respond to the life, you will not experience yourself as a superlative creator no matter how many times you affirm it is true.

The best way to notice how receptive you are to the truth about your ‘unlimited nature’ observe how you are responding to the world today … and compare your responses with your responses of yesterday. Are you setting loftier aspirations and aims? Are you taking more action? Are your responses empowering you so that solutions to problems are coming more quickly? Notice any positive changes and celebrate small victories (take a moment to celebrate privately).

122009_commute_2Comparison helps you to see small improvements. Acknowledgement and private celebration reinforces the improvements. The more you do it, the easier it gets; soon you find it easy to behave in superior ways.

Notice circumstances that would upset you in the past … and today barely make an impression on your radar screen. The world will teach you to take the time to notice what you are doing wrong. Flip that around and begin now taking the time to notice what you are doing right.noteman commute day 3

self-change requires applying new knowledge

Noteman Reading 1The purpose of taking command of your mind is to make changes so your future unfolds as you want it to. Mental advancement requires sincerely applying the guiding principles and sage wisdom you find in the book 180. A fresh way of seeing things is always a tremendous supporter of progress. It is an inspiring aspiration to be eager to let go of limiting points of view for something different and new.

It is amazing how many folks read self-help books for years and yet remain the same on the inside, which means there are no significant changes on the outside. These folks have missed the point of the self-help journey: replacing old limiting beliefs and decisions with opinions and ideas that are refreshing and empowering.

Noteman Reading 2If you always think what you always thought, you cannot help but always get what you always got. The content of your mind pre-paves the way, and if the content remains unchanged, your tomorrow follows your today with remarkable similarity. The Law of Harmonious Attraction will have it no other way.

It takes more than reading books that contain wisdom and truth. You must be willing to absorb that truth into the subjective level of your mind by ‘ACTING AS THOUGH IT IS SO’ even if it still feels new and unfamiliar to you.

think for yourself

Poor Me Attitude

Many folks who offer you advice are more interested in imposing their point of view on you than your happiness. These folks want the ego-satisfaction of getting their way with you more than offering advice that may actually do you good. They are more concerned with being right with their opinions and advice. It gives them a cheap thrill.

There is no more dangerous a person than those who have all the answers for you. This person simply wants to dominate you so he can falsely feel good about himself. His cheap thrill can cost you dearly.

If you are attracting these kinds of folks into your life, it is time to wake up. You want to look at the version of yourself that you have created yourself to be. The odds are that you are walking around with a “poor me, I’m helpless” attitude radiating outwardly from you. An attitude of helplessness is not actual helplessness. All attitudes, including a helplessness attitude, can be changed in an instant.

It is time to take a deeper look at your inward self-talk when you notice that you have surrounded yourself with people who insist they know what is best for you. They cannot impose their will on you unless you allow them to. Trust in yourself; turn deep within and ask that unlimited side of you what to do when things seem confusing. Ask, and ask again, believing in yourself; make it a habit to keep asking – the answers will come.
It's up to me!

being complete

Procrastinating LifeIf you intend to win at life, you must learn to complete on what you say you are going to do. Nothing creates a self-sabotaging attitude like being incomplete with your promises; be they to yourself or to others. Soon you find yourself going through your days with a dull and unseeing stare.

When you do NOT spend your time completing your projects and goals, your mind fills up your time with tail-chasing drama that has you spinning in circles. Some folks think that tail-chasing drama is as good as it gets. They use this drama as an excuse NOT to finish what they promised they would do: “I don’t have time to finish; life demands too much of me.

Why do so many folks procrastinate so often? Well, if they don’t complete on what they said they would do, no one can belittle them for failing, and they’d rather be criticized for procrastinating than be told they are too dumb to succeed. There is an erroneous presupposition with this kind of logic – they assume they don’t have what it takes.

Many intelligent students with inferiority complexes drop out of school because they fear they will fail, and would rather quit than be called dumb (which they’re not).

It is important to underline a fact here: the decision to quit or procrastinate indefinitely … guarantees failure. It’s limiting decisions of this nature that feed into false feelings of inferiority, which inevitably destroy all of your ideals from becoming real.

Winning LifeWhat to do to break the habit of procrastinating and quitting: Hold this as your foremost rule, “I will be loyal to my unlimited nature, no matter what the problem may be. I will not allow a blow to my false pride stop me.” Continually remind yourself that there is infinitely more to you than meets the eye and take your word seriously. You will be startled at what you find you can do.
